🚨⛈️ Sandbags Available 🚨⛈️

Due to the weather and potential for more heavy rainfall throughout the afternoon and tomorrow, sandbags are available for residents who may need them.

Sandbags are located in the south parking lot of Town Hall (7818 Hwy 1 S.) and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

We also encourage residents to check and clear any nearby ditches, drains, and culverts of debris to help prevent localized flooding. Our Public Works Department is currently out monitoring and checking drainage throughout town.

Please continue to monitor local weather updates and take any necessary precautions to protect your property and stay safe.

The Town of Addis was proud to take part in Louisiana’s annual Week—a statewide initiative focused on litter removal, beautification, and community pride.

Mayor Toups, along with staff and our dedicated Public Works crew, spent time this morning cleaning up along Highway 1. What we found hidden in the tall grass was a reminder of why this effort matters—gutters, car rims, and even a playground slide were just a few of many items collected.

Love the Boot Week is all about encouraging residents to take pride in where we live. Keeping our community clean not only makes West Baton Rouge Parish more beautiful, but it also protects our environment, improves safety, and shows respect for our neighbors.

Let’s continue the effort beyond this week—dispose of waste properly, secure your loads, and lend a hand when you can. A cleaner community starts with all of us!

We would also like to extend a big thank you to Addis Police Department for assisting with traffic control and helping keep everyone safe during the cleanup.
