The Special Olympics Texas delegation is once again departing from Addison as part of the incredible Special Olympics Airlift from 8am to noon on Friday, June 19 at Million Air Dallas, 4300 Westgrove Dr.

Held only once every four years in conjunction with the Special Olympics USA Games, the Airlift is coordinated by Textron Aviation. It brings together Citation and other Textron jet owners from across the country who are volunteering their aircraft and crews to transport Special Olympians to this year’s games in Minneapolis. Known as the world's largest peacetime airlift, the mission relies on hundreds of volunteers and generous partners to make the experience possible.

Million Air Dallas will host the departing athletes and aircraft from its Platinum Ramp and is seeking approximately 75 volunteers to assist with check-in, baggage handling, and aircraft loading.

For more than 25 years, Venturity has called Addison home, providing growing companies with outsourced finance and accounting services designed to deliver high-level expertise without the cost of building a full in-house department. Located in The Aberdeen along the Dallas North Tollway, the employee-owned company supports businesses with strategic financial guidance tailored to their needs.

Mayor Bruce Arfsten, Council Member Marlin Willesen, City Manager David Gaines, and Economic Development Director Wayne Emerson recently visited Venturity to learn more about the company’s operations, culture, and continued investment in Addison.

During the visit, Venturity Board Chair Chris McKee shared how the company helps clients access the kind of insight and leadership typically provided by a CFO while creating meaningful cost savings.

Special thanks to Casey Dunham, Deanna Corbo Walker, and Chris McKee for welcoming Town representatives and sharing more about Venturity’s story and impact in the community.

The Addison community showed up in a big way for this year’s Battle of the Badges Blood Drive, helping make the event a tremendous success.

The Addison Police and Fire Departments extend their sincere thanks to every donor, volunteer, and supporter who contributed to the event. Each donation has the potential to help save lives, and the community’s participation reflects the generosity and spirit that make Addison so special.

The friendly competition between public safety teams added an extra layer of fun to a meaningful cause, with Addison Fire taking this year’s victory by a final vote count of 10–8. While bragging rights may belong to Fire for now, both departments are grateful for the opportunity to come together with the community in support of lifesaving care.

Touch-A-Truck event was a rolling, honking, truck-loving success!

Families from across the community came out to explore an incredible lineup of vehicles, meet the people behind the wheel, and enjoy a hands-on experience built for curious kiddos and future operators alike.

From police motorcycles and fire apparatus to a trash truck, street sweeper, and heavy equipment, children had the chance to climb aboard, push buttons, sound horns, and get an up-close look at the vehicles that help keep Addison running every day. The event brought out a huge crowd and created countless smiles, photo ops, and unforgettable memories for families.

A special thank you goes to our presenting sponsor, , for helping make this event possible. Their support helped power an exciting day of community connection, education, and fun.

We’re grateful to all of our participating departments, staff, sponsors, and families who made this year’s Touch-A-Truck such a tremendous success.

Addison has more public art per capita than any city in the United States. A lot of that credit goes to the Addison Arbor Foundation and the volunteers who refused to let great art disappear. Read how it came to life!

Years ago, when companies moved out of Addison office developments, some left behind massive outdoor sculptures. Rather than let them disappear, a group of volunteers stepped in. They tracked …

The Town will begin a concrete street crack sealing project in select neighborhood areas on May 26, with work expected to wrap up by June 2. This maintenance work helps protect streets from water damage and extend the life of the pavement.

During construction, residents may notice construction equipment and crews in the area as well as a temporary odor from sealing materials. There may be short delays when entering or exiting driveways and temporary restrictions on on-street parking in active work zones, but access to homes will be maintained at all times.

Work will take place during daytime hours only. Drivers are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the work areas. For questions, contact Public Works and Engineering at 972-450-2871.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete this important maintenance project.
