Teamwork makes the dream work! Earlier this month, volunteer pilots Rep. Jake Ellzey and Taylor Smith teamed up to fly 21-year-old Van from Dallas to Denver for critical care. Van has a very rare condition (affecting less than 1% of the population) and finding care can be challenging therefore he has to travel to Denver for specialized treatments The Yakes Vascular Malformation Center. A special thanks to Jake and Taylor for flying this incredible mission and to Van for allowing us to be a part of his journey.

Melanie, Executive Director for Angel Flight South Central, loves getting to recognize volunteer pilots when they reach mission milestone. Today, she got to celebrate 1,100+ missions (a HUGE accomplishment) with Hogan Brian Brooks. Hundreds of passengers have had access to life-saving and life-changing care all because of him. Volunteer pilots James Wright first flew Laura from San Antonio to Houston for cancer treatments in July of last year and the two immediately hit it off. So many great people hearing about adding purpose to their passion for aviation. It's a family affair🥰Studies show that when patients are accompanied by family members for medical procedures, both stress and anxiety are significantly reduced - which can improve healing and recovery. But all too often, when care is far from home, patients are forced to travel alone due to the high cost of commercial travel. Recently, volunteer pilots Juan Lopez and Michael Randall (pictured) teamed up to fly Dayana and her son from Midland to Houston Methodist for care. Thanks to Juan and Michael for the donation of time, talent and treasure - allowing Dayana to access care AND share precious time with her son.

FIRST MISSION FRIDAY! What better way to wrap up the week than celebrating a new passenger and her ability to access the best possible care. Thanks to volunteer pilot Michael Racine, Olga, along with her husband, was able to travel to University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center for surgery.
