On Sunday, August 30, shortly before 6 p.m., Addison Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 14700 block of Marsh Lane. Crews arrived to find heavy fire and smoke coming from a large townhome-style residential building.

Due to the extent of the fire and risk of spreading to adjoining units, the incident was upgraded to a second alarm, bringing additional resources from the Carrollton and Farmers Branch Fire Departments.

Despite challenging conditions, crews conducted an aggressive fire attack, performed primary searches, and checked adjoining units for fire extension. Their coordinated efforts contained the fire to its area of origin, preventing further spread and limiting additional damage.

We are incredibly proud of our AFD members and grateful to our automatic aid partners Carrollton Texas Fire Rescue and Farmers Branch Fire Department for their outstanding teamwork and assistance.

Thank you to our Town of Addison Police Department for providing scene and access control, allowing our crews to operate safely.

Incidents like this demonstrate the strength of our regional partnerships and what can be accomplished when we work together to protect our communities.

After more than 26 years of dedicated service to the Town of Addison and an incredible 28 years in the fire service, Captain John Tisdale is hanging up his helmet and beginning a well-deserved retirement. 🚒❤️

Throughout his career, Captain Tisdale’s leadership, dedication, and service have made a lasting impact on the Addison Fire Department and the community we are proud to serve.

Our newest ARFF vehicle and Squad are officially in service! We’re proud to carry on the time honored push-in tradition and loved celebrating this milestone with our community.💙

Addison's Citizens Academy offers residents a behind-the-scenes look at local government through interactive sessions, facility tours, and conversations with Town leaders and staff. Learn how decisions are made, meet the people who keep Addison running, and discover new ways to get involved in your community.

🚒 A Tradition as Old as the Fire Service Itself

Long before sirens and diesel engines, firefighters pushed their horse-drawn apparatus into the station by hand. Today, that tradition lives on as departments welcome new equipment into service alongside their crews and communities.

On Saturday, August 22, we're keeping that tradition alive. Addison Fire Department officially pushes Rescue 101 and Squad 101 into the station, and we’d love to have you there!

We'll also be announcing the name YOU picked for our new ARFF! 👀✈️🚒
It’ll be a short and sweet ceremony, so stop by, say hi to the crews, and get an up-close look at our newest apparatus.
