The Addison-Medinah Shriners Parade is TODAY!

The parade starts at 3:00 PM at Addison Trail High School and will head east on Army Trail Boulevard to Kennedy Drive.

If you’re coming out to enjoy the parade, keep in mind that there will be several road closures in the area. Please plan ahead, give yourself some extra time, and take a moment to review the road closure information below.

Closures starting at 2:00 PM:
• Lombard Rd. from Diversey Ave. to Stone Ave.
• Belmont Pl. from Elizabeth St. to Lombard Rd.

Closures starting at 2:30 PM:
• Army Trail Blvd. East from Route 53 to Kennedy Drive including all road intersections along the parade route
• Kennedy Drive North to Lake St.

Roads are expected to remain closed until around 5:00 PM, so please use an alternate route if you can.

This morning, our patrol officers responded to a home to help a family during a stressful situation involving their young child.

Later, the child’s father stopped by to thank our officers for responding so quickly and helping his family. He also brought pizzas for our officers and the Addison Fire Protection District as a thank-you for being there when his family needed help.

The Addison-Medinah Shriners Parade is THIS SUNDAY!

Just two days to go! The parade kicks off at 3:00 PM this Sunday, August 30, from Addison Trail High School, traveling east to Kennedy Drive.

If you’re planning to attend, please take a moment to review the road closure information below and plan your route accordingly.

Road Closures:

Starting at 2:00 PM:
• Lombard Rd. from Diversey Ave. to Stone Ave.

The Village of Addison is accepting applications for the Part-Time Payroll/Accounting Clerk position.

This position performs routine payroll accounting functions for the Village and assists with a variety of financial and administrative processes, including General Ledger maintenance, audit preparation, month-end and year-end journal entries, budget preparation, and other special projects. Wage Range: $45.08 - $62.38 per hour.

Passing a skills-based test is required to be an eligible candidate for this position. The skills-based test will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at 9:00 AM.

Applications can be obtained by downloading the application form from the Village’s website. All completed applications must be submitted no later than 5:00 PM on Friday, October 2, 2026. Applications submitted after the deadline will NOT be accepted. Only one (1) application per person, per testing cycle is accepted.

Last Rock ‘n Wheels of the Season – Join Us Tonight!

It’s the last Rock ‘n Wheels of the season in Addison, and we hope to see you tonight at the Village Green from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

6:30 PM: Jagged Little Pill - The Alanis Morissette Tribute Band
8:00 PM: sixteencandlesband (80's Pop Tribute)
9:40 PM: Fireworks Finale

Food and beverages will be available for purchase from local restaurants. Be sure to stop by the Addison Historical Museum from 6 PM to 8:00 PM, where you can enjoy the Craft & Vintage Fair and meet Revolutionary War Soldier reenactors who will bring a piece of history to life.

The Bike show will be located on May Street, while the Car Show will be at Green Meadow Shopping Center in spots along Lake Street only.

The Addison Police Department along with our Public Works department, will be on site throughout the evening to help keep everyone safe and traffic moving smoothly.

Limited accessible parking will be available in the Village Hall parking lot, with additional limited handicap street parking on Army Trail Boulevard between May Street and Friendship Plaza.

Mill Rd is currently shut down between Eggerding Drive and I-290 due to a traffic crash that resulted in downed power lines.

Please avoid the area and use an alternate route while emergency crews work to clear the crash and make the area safe. We will provide updates when the roadway reopens. ML204

The Village of Addison will host its annual Community Recycling Event on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Addison Public Works Department, 1491 Jeffrey Drive.

This event is for ADDISON RESIDENTS ONLY. Proof of residency is required at drop-off. Please see the flyer for the complete list of accepted items and restrictions.
