Please join us in congratulating Brian Lindstrom on his retirement from the Addison Police Department after 30 years of tireless service. Brian spent 25 years as a sworn officer before retiring as a Sergeant to take the civilian Records Supervisor position.

In the last five years, Brian has overseen major changes within the Records Section -- a redesign of the Records offices, the hiring of several new Records personnel, the development of an entirely new Records Management software system, and so much more. He is truly leaving Records in a better place than when he found it.

Congratulations, Brian, and good luck on your next chapter. You will be missed! JS419

Here are some great tips from the Social Security Administration on how to recognize scammers and how to stay safe.

St. Patrick’s Day will be here before we know it, bringing with it parades, parties, green beer and more to communities throughout the state. To remind motorists of the dangers of impaired driving and to help keep our streets safe, the Addison Police Department is teaming up with the Illinois State Police and the Illinois Department of Transportation for a stepped-up traffic safety campaign.

From March 7 to March 18, the Addison Police will join hundreds of Illinois law enforcement officers in cracking down on impaired motorists. In addition to looking for alcohol- and cannabis-impaired drivers, the Addison Police will step up seat belt enforcement, particularly at night when seat belt usage rates are lowest. Speeding, distracted driving, and all traffic laws will be strictly enforced.

We want everyone to enjoy St. Patrick's Day, but safe driving is everyone's responsibility. When you go out this St. Patrick’s Day, bring your lucky charm – a sober, designated driver. Be safe, Addison! JS419

The Addison Police Department wants your help so we can provide the best possible service to all members of the community.

Last year, the Police Department started an innovative program – For any non-emergency call for service, citizens automatically receive a text message from the Addison Police. The text message contains a link to a survey that asks about your experience with us. (Text message fees do not apply, and the recipient cannot reply to the text.)

We know you are busy, but we hope you will take a couple minutes out of your day to complete the survey for us. JS419

March is Speed Awareness Month --

The Addison Police Department participates in IDOT’s traffic grant program. This period, the focus is on enforcing speed limits within the Village, with a secondary focus on seat belt usage and distracted and impaired driving. The grant runs through the month of March. Extra officers will be out patrolling the streets of Addison, dedicated to speed enforcement, seat belt usage, and distracted and impaired driving.

Responsible driving starts with you. Eliminate distractions, drive within the speed limit, always wear your seatbelt, and don't drink and drive. Be safe, Addison!
