The Addison Public Library hosted their official Grand Reopening ribbon cutting ceremony yesterday! They also unveiled the brand new makerspace, "Sam's Lab", named in honor of Satyanarayana "Sam" Gunda. Mayor Tom Hundley was in attendance along with Village Clerk Lucille Zucchero and members of the Village Board.

Visitors of all ages had a blast exploring the newly renovated spaces, register for the Summer Reading Program, and enjoy a magic show, balloon animals, face painting, yummy treats, and fun giveaways. Thanks so much to everyone who joined the celebration!

Local leaders are raising concerns that parts of the proposed BUILD Act could allow significant changes to existing neighborhoods without the same level of local review residents are used to today. Residents who share those concerns are encouraged to contact their state legislators.

The Village of Addison's Public Works Department, Addison Police Department, and Addison Fire Protection District had so much fun participating in Touch-A-Truck at Addison School District 4's Summer Send-Off. On May 21st, we celebrated the start of summer with an exciting Kindergarten Carnival, yearbook signing, resource fair, and more. Addison's students had a blast getting to touch, sit in, and learn about the trucks that help protect and maintain our Village, while connecting with the dedicated crews that drive them!

Thank you to everyone who made this special event possible!

It's branch pickup time again! Addison’s next Village-wide branch pickup is on Monday, Jun 1.

Please place your branches curbside (not in the street) by Sunday, May 31, and remember:
• Stack branches in one direction with thicker ends facing the street
• No root balls, yard waste, or contractor cuttings
• No cross-stacking or oversized limbs

Thanks for helping keep Addison clean and beautiful!

State leaders: DuPage residents and regional municipal leaders want responsible growth, local input, and infrastructure planning.
The BUILD Act would shift zoning authority away from local communities while increasing density without dedicated funding for roads, water, sewer, stormwater, schools, and emergency services.
Housing solutions should be built with local voices.

We’re excited to share that last night, Mayor Tom Hundley was warmly welcomed as the new Vice President of the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference (DMMC) for 2026-2027! Alongside his new role, he’ll continue serving on the Legislative Committee.

A big thank you to Addison Village Clerk Lucille Zucchero, Deputy Mayor Cathy Kluczny, and Trustees Sam Nasti, Dawn O'Brien, Jay Del Rosario, Maria Reyes, and Guy Ruggieri for joining the celebration.

Mayor Hundley was proudly sworn in by DMMC President Phil Suess, with Executive Director Suzette Quintell also there to mark the occasion!

Over the past several weeks we have hosted wonderful second graders visiting from Fullerton, Army Trail Elementary School, Lincoln Elementary School, WesleyElementarySchool, Stone Elementary School, Lake Park Elementary School, and Ardmore Elementary School- Addison. They started with a tour of some of our buildings at the Addison Historical Museum to learn about the town's history before heading to the Village Hall. There they ate lunch in the Village's Board Room where they also met Mayor Hundley and asked him many insightful questions. Some students asked for Mayor Hundley's autograph, and everyone left with their own "I met the Mayor" sticker!
We hope they had a great time at the Village of Addison because we definitely enjoyed getting to meet some of our bright students!

Thank you to our long time Addison Historical Society volunteers and board members Lauretta Schneider, Tom Power, and John Navrocki for helping guide the tour groups through the museums!

Residents attend public hearings, speak at meetings, and work with local officials because neighborhood decisions matter.
Many local leaders are raising concerns that the proposed BUILD Act could reduce the role communities play in shaping growth, redevelopment, parking, infrastructure planning, and existing neighborhood development patterns through statewide zoning mandates.
Communities want housing solutions built through partnership and public input.
Contact your state legislators today and help keep local voices part of local planning decisions.
