Looking for a hands-on summer job? The Village of Addison is hiring seasonal part-time employees for the Public Works Department! This is a great opportunity to gain experience, work outdoors, and contribute to the community.

Start Date: May 15, 2025
Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (40 hours/week)
Pay: $17.08–$23.65 per hour

Duties Include:
✔️ Maintenance of Village buildings & grounds
✔️ Street patching, tree trimming, hydrant painting & more
✔️ Equipment cleaning & basic repairs

Requirements:
✔️ Must be at least 17 years old
✔️ Valid Illinois driver’s license
✔️ Ability to pass a physical & drug screening

Multiple waves of snow are in the forecast through Sunday. First round: near/north of I-88 between mid-morning and mid-afternoon. Second round: mid-afternoon through this evening mainly near and south of I-80 with a brief wintry mix possible. Third round: mostly lake effect tonight through Sunday afternoon. Snow accumulations of 1” or less are generally expected at most locations, though some localized accumulations up to 2-3” will be possible south of I-80 and near Lake Michigan.

Heavier snow is overspreading the area from the west and southwest, having already reached the Rockford area during the 9 AM hour. By about noon, expect accumulating snow, heavy at times to expand into more of the Chicago metro, especially for areas near and northwest of I-55. Travel conditions will steadily deteriorate, as you can see on the we**am images to the right, including just upstream in the Quad Cities and southeast Iowa. If you must drive, take it slow and increase following distance!

Light snow is lifting into the area early this morning out ahead of the main system expected to bring more impactful snow to the area later today. This could result in a quick coating of snow on roadways to locally 0.5" on elevated surfaces through ~5 AM CST, with slick spots lingering into the start of the AM commute.

Confidence continues to increase that a winter storm system will impact the Midwest and Great Lakes region Wednesday through Wednesday night. While exact snow amounts remain uncertain, there is an increasing potential for several inches of snow in portions of northern IL and northwest IN.
