Our newest baby!

We got this little 7-9 day old morning dove 🕊 in this evening. This baby was found with its nest and sibling on the ground after a wind storm. This little one is the only survivor!

OPOSSUM FACTS:

Opossums grow to be about the size of a house cat and have a short life span.... 2 to 4 years. They have fur that range from grey to black and some times white, with a pink nose and black ears usually with white tips. They do NOT use to their tails to hang from trees despite what you have heard, their tails are prehensile that help them climb and grab onto thing as they climb.

Opossums are solitary animals and move in a slow manner, having a waddle kind of move when they walk fast..... they will fall into an involuntary shock like state (playing possum / dead like) when they are scared or unable to flee, this action can last for hours at a time.

**They are very gentle animals and wish to avoid confrontation at all cost, but will growl, hiss and display their 50 sharp as a means to avoid run ins with other animals....... their biggest desire is to be left alone.

**Females give birth in their pouch with in 13 days of mating.
