๐ŸŽ‰ **20 YEARS OF AN AMAZING TRADITION!** ๐Ÿ’ฆ

Class of 2033, you made it!

Today, we kept the ultimate Shady Grove Elementary tradition alive by spraying our incredible 5th graders out of elementary school and sending them soaking wet and full of excitement straight into 6th grade at William Ellis Middle School! ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ”ซ

This tradition started way back in 2006, and 20 years later, the energy is just as wild and the memories are just as sweet.

Good luck, Jaguars! You have laid out a foundational path of hard work and fun, and we know you are absolutely going to crush middle school! ๐Ÿ†โœจ

Go get 'em! ๐ŸŽ’๐Ÿ“š

๐Ÿš’ BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO ONE OF OUR OWN! ๐Ÿฆ…

The Advance Fire Department would like to extend a massive congratulations to Junior Cadet Firefighter C. J. Smith on achieving the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout! A Court of Honor was held this past Saturday, May 30th, at Yadkin Valley Baptist Church to celebrate this incredible milestone.

C.J.โ€™s scouting journey began all the way back in Cub Scouts and continued through the ranks of Boy Scouts. Eagle is the absolute highest rank a Scout can achieve, representing:

โœจ Years of campouts & planning

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Selfless community service projects

๐Ÿ… Earning an impressive 36 merit badges

๐Ÿ’ผ Taking on vital leadership roles

Did you know? Only about 2 percent of all who join Scouting ever achieve the rank of Eagle.

We are incredibly proud to have a young man of this caliber, dedication, and character as a part of our Department. C.J. is the son of Chris and Bobby Jo Smith, congratulations to the whole family on this wonderful achievement!

Please join us in the comments below in congratulating C.J.! ๐Ÿ‘‡๐ŸŽ‰

Advance Fire Department Leadership Meets with State Lawmakers at NC Fire Chiefs Gathering in Raleigh

RALEIGH, NC โ€” Fire Chief Miller and Assistant Chief Gaylean of the Advance Fire Department attended the annual North Carolina Fire Chiefs gathering in Raleigh. The event provided a vital platform for fire service leaders across the state to discuss legislative priorities, community safety initiatives, and the evolving needs of local fire districts.

A major highlight of the productive day was the opportunity for Chief Miller and Assistant Chief Gaylean to sit down for direct, face-to-face discussions with the legislative representatives serving the Advance community, including Representative Julia Howard (House District 77) and Senator Steve Jarvis (Senate District 30).
The meetings focused on key issues impacting the fire department's ability to protect lives and property in Davie County.

"Having a direct line of communication with lawmakers like Representative Howard and Senator Jarvis is crucial for our department," said Chief Miller. "Yesterdayโ€™s discussions allowed us to ensure that the specific needs of the Advance community and our first responders are being heard loud and clear at the State Capitol."

The Advance Fire Department is committed to maintaining these collaborative partnerships with state leaders to advocate for the tools, infrastructure, and support necessary to continue delivering top-tier emergency services to its residents.
