As many of you know, there is a fire in Newbury Park. At yesterday’s community leadership meeting hosted by Lost Hills Sheriffs Station, Battalion Chief Binder asked that we remind our communities - READY, SET, GO!!! Be ready in advance for a fire with a list of what you intend to grab in the case of evacuation. When the first, perhaps voluntary evacuation order comes down, start your grabbing. Most important when you are told to evacuate - GO. Staying at your home impacts the entire community. It’s black and white for firefighters. If there are people in the path of the fire, they will turn away from saving structures to save people. Period. You can all understand this policy. If you stay home, your neighbor’s house may go up in flames. Think about it. Be Ready!

Community Camera Registry
We are building an interactive map of security cameras in Los Angeles County that will:
Be accessible only to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department
Increase the efficiency of direct video evidence collection
Provide immediate contact information to investigators for camera owners
Enable communities to work together to create a safer Los Angeles County
Camera registration takes less than one minute via our secure online portal.
Registering your cameras does not allow the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department access to your live video stream - it only enables investigators to know a camera is present at your location and easily request video evidence should an incident occur.
To register your camera go to: https://connectlosangelescounty.org/

Every day, 700 children in Ventura County need a loving foster home. Many foster families quit within the first year due to a lack of resources. Here is where The Mark & Jacob Iskander Foundation (www.markandjacobfoundation.org)Â steps in to help. This non-profit recently opened to connect children deserving of love and compassion with Ventura County residents willing to open their homes. Their mission is to support foster and respite parents, connecting them to resources, education, and more to help them on their journey to open their homes to children in need.
This event features delicious food from Boccaccio’s and the Landing Restaurants, inspiring messages from community leaders, plus exciting silent and live auctions with trips, tours, and unique experiences. Â
