Friendly Friday! Say hello to our new school psychologist Ms. Alyssa Peterson. A few things to know about her: She is a new mom of a 5 month old, she lived and worked as a school psychologist in Florida and Washington DC before moving back to California, and listening to music is her favorite coping skill! Meet Our New Faces Friday! Here’s Mrs. Amanda Hurley, our new Special Education Language Arts Teacher! A few fun facts from Mrs. Hurley herself:

I was born in London, England, and have lived in the midwest, south, and some southwest states of USA. My immediate family lives in different states. I settled in our community in 1998 and currently live in Westlake Village. Thirteen years ago, I met my husband and we raised his son who is now a graduating senior and captain of the wrestling team at WHS.

I’m not your typical teacher. My first career was in investment banking and asset management (Merrill Lynch, etc.). After 10 years, I enrolled in graduate school at night for the completion of multiple subject, special education credentials, and a graduate degree in special education, while working as a corporate executive administrator at Amgen and Realtor.com during the day.

My third career as a special education teacher began in 2007 at LVUSD. I became involved with LVEA and participated in many committees in the district. Then in 2017, I returned to university for a post-graduate certificate in Educational Therapy and opened a private practice in Westlake Village.

Meet Our New Faces Friday! Here is Mrs. Sarah Reines, our new Office Assistant. Some fun facts about Mrs. Reines:
- She has three wonderful kids, two of whom are LVUSD grads and one in 6th grade here at Lindero!
- She does a lot of running and hiking in my free time. She has competed in five marathons and climbed more than 75 mountains -- including Whitney and Shasta twice.
- She loves to bake elaborate themed cakes for birthdays. Two of her favorites were a very lifelike "burrito" and a volcano cake that erupted chocolate sauce!
