Our Voyagers had an absolute blast enjoying games, activities, laughter, teamwork, and, of course, refreshing slushies! 😎🥤

A huge thank you to our amazing Student Council for organizing such a tremendous end-of-year celebration. Your leadership, enthusiasm, and hard work helped create a memorable day filled with fun and smiles for our entire school community.

🏛️✨ A Tour Into Living History! ✨🏛️
At the end of May, the students in Mrs. Birkett's and Mrs. Pike's classes brought history to life during their annual Wax Museum presentations! From influential leaders and inventors to artists, athletes, and changemakers, our 4th and 5th grade Voyagers transformed into historical figures and shared their stories with confidence, knowledge, and creativity.

Visitors had the opportunity to "activate" each exhibit and learn about the accomplishments, challenges, and lasting impact of these remarkable individuals. The event showcased not only students' research and presentation skills, but also their dedication, perseverance, and passion for learning.

We are so proud of our students for stepping into the shoes of historical figures and helping us take a memorable journey through history. Bravo to our young historians and to Mrs. Birkett and Mrs. Pike for creating such an engaging and meaningful learning experience! 💚🚀

🌈☀️ Field Day Fun is Almost Here! ☀️🌈
Get ready, Voyagers! Our annual Student Council Field Day is coming up on Monday, June 8, and we can't wait for a morning filled with laughter, teamwork, friendly competition, and school spirit!

Students will rotate through exciting activity stations and relay races organized by our outstanding Student Council leaders.

To add even more color to the fun, each grade level has been assigned a color as part of our Colors of the Rainbow theme:
💜 TK & Kindergarten – Violet
🧡 1st Grade – Orange
❤️ 2nd Grade – Red
💙 3rd Grade – Blue
💚 4th Grade – Green
💛 5th Grade – 5th Grade Shirts
🌈 Student Council – Tie Dye

Be sure to wear your grade-level color and come ready to move, cheer, and celebrate the incredible year we've had together. And after all that fun? Students will enjoy a cool slushy treat to help beat the heat!

🎳✨ Our 5th Graders Hit a Strike at Bowlero! ✨🎳
One of our favorite end-of-year traditions rolled into action this week as our 5th graders enjoyed their annual trip to Bowlero! Filled with laughter, friendly competition, high-fives, and plenty of strikes (and a few gutter balls!), the day was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate all they have accomplished during their time at Sumac.

As these Voyagers prepare for their next adventure, we are grateful for the memories they've created, the friendships they've built, and the positive impact they've had on our school community. This special outing was a well-deserved celebration of their hard work, growth, and perseverance.

Here's to our 5th graders, may they continue to aim high, support one another, and keep rolling toward bright futures! 💚🚀🎳

🥞✨ 5th Grade Breakfast Celebration! ✨🥞
This morning, we had the joy of celebrating our amazing 5th graders at our annual 5th Grade Breakfast. As they prepare to close one chapter and begin another, we took time to reflect on the friendships, growth, accomplishments, and memories that have made their elementary school journey so special.

From their first days as young Voyagers to the leaders they are today, these students have demonstrated curiosity, resilience, kindness, and courage. We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and excited for the adventures that await them in middle school and beyond.

A heartfelt thank you to our families, staff, and volunteers who helped make this special tradition possible. 💚🚀

Today is a special day at Sumac as our Voyagers received their 2025–2026 yearbooks and spent time signing memories, sharing smiles, and reflecting on an incredible year together.

A huge congratulations and special shout-out to Sophia, whose artwork was selected as the winner of our Yearbook Cover Design Contest! 🎨🌟 Sophia’s creativity, talent, and Voyager spirit will forever be part of this year's keepsake.
From classroom celebrations and STEM adventures to performances, field trips, friendships, and milestones, this yearbook captures the moments that made this school year so meaningful.

Thank you to everyone who helped bring this beautiful book to life. We hope our students treasure these memories for years to come!

We remind students to use kind words, respect others' belongings, follow teacher directions, and help ensure every message shared reflects the caring and inclusive community we have built together. Join us as we celebrate the talents of our incredible student performers during our Spring Showcases! These end-of-year musical performances are a joyful highlight of the season and a wonderful opportunity to see our Voyagers shine on stage.

🌍 Cultural Diversity Day 🌍

Join us on Friday, May 22 for one of Sumac’s most joyful and vibrant traditions, Cultural Diversity Day! This special day celebrates the rich cultures, traditions, and perspectives that make our school community so unique.

Students will visit classrooms from 8:30–9:30 AM and then families are invited to support the continued the celebration with volunteering for activities across campus from 9:30 AM–1:00 PM. As they tour, they’ll experience student learning brought to life as we “travel the world” through projects, presentations, and cultural experiences.
