Check out our Newest Program! Holt's Post-Adoption Services team is developing a new pilot program to help families increase discussions around sensitive adoption topics. This 6-week virtual program for parents and their Adoptee (looking for ages 15-18 this round) will have big group discussions and activities, as well a time for parents and kids to break off with two Holt staff social workers (also adoptive parents) and three Holt post-adoption staff (who are also Adoptees themselves), respectively. We are limiting it to 8 families right now for our pilot round and we already have 4 spots filled. If this seems like it would be good for you and your teen, you can find more information here:
https://padiscoveryclub2022.eventbrite.com
Here is a brief overview of the program and some of the topics that will be discussed.
• Week 1 (Feb. 24) Introductions and Program Overview
• Week 2 (March 3) Adoptee Identity and Adoption Concepts
• Week 3 (March 10) Grief and Loss
• Week 4 (March 17) Race
• Week 5 (March 24) Fostering Racial Identity
