3 of our firefighters spent their Saturday in Advance Fire Behavior training down at Camp Gruber. OSU Fire Service Training and Camp Gruber hosted the State Fire School this year and like always they put on some of the best training opportunities for free. Keep watching our page because I will be posting some videos from inside the trailer AKA (The Can).

Fire crews spent last night and early morning hours today putting out approximately 150 round bales of hay. Crews from Northeast Lincoln County Fire Department and Iowa Tribe Fire Department assisted with equipment and man power on this very labor intensive fire. Both departments did an awesome job and we greatly appreciate each of them. I’d also like to mention how amazing it was to see several neighbors and friends of this family who showed up to help. The equipment and expertise of the operators sure made this daunting task much more manageable. MIsty McFarlin Thank you for the Braums burgers and cookies you supplied to all the crews. Your generosity sure meant a great deal to everyone who was there.

Very busy and productive day for Agra Fire Crews. Started the day off with a control burn for the brush pile created after the ice storm. We would like to say thank you to Darrick Goforth and Alvis Goforth for getting the equipment from Mills Construction to consolidate the pile, which made the burn go much better. While that was going on, a brush truck and tanker went to assist Stroud on a grass/barn fire. Later in the afternoon we received a call to mutual aid Stillwater to help on a large fast moving grass fire. We’d also like to thank Darrick Goforth for the morning donuts. Also would like to say thank you to Mr. Melvin Selcer for the hotdogs, buns and relish he brought down to crews to cook for lunch at the brush pile. We greatly appreciate you all.

OG&E have successfully restored power to the town of Agra!!! If you are still experiencing power issues or no power OG&E says to call the Outage Hotline @ 1-800-522-6870. They have crews currently working in city limits. The crew we spoke to said when the homeowner calls it will send the gps location and work order to them the quickest. If your meter and weather head have been pulled away from your house or pole you will need to contact an electrician. If you see these big orange trucks in town working tell them thank you as you pass by. They have been working 16 hour shifts since this started. We definitely appreciate them.

Thank you Chandler Fire for hosting class this weekend and thanks to Oklahoma State FST for another great opportunity for free training. If you are not aware of what OSU FST does for our area let me give you a little information. From time to time OSFA and OSU FST offers training at no cost for all firefighters in the state and we here at Agra Fire take advantage of it. Even though not all of us can make the classes we bring it back and show what we have learned. It is a great opportunity and for that I am very thankful

Fire Prevention Week 2020. Agra Firefighters giving the Agra Elementary 3yr olds, Pre-K, K, 1st, & 2nd grade students fire safety lessons. Special thank you to Cushing Fire for bringing down and setting up the Fire Safety House. Thank you Agra Public Schools for allowing us to stop by. We appreciate all the teachers, staff and administrators that assisted us and allowed us to make this happen. And lastly our community, we cannot express enough how much we appreciate you for supporting the Agra Firefighters Association. Our communities support and donations allowed us to purchase NFPA Fire Safety Information and other goodies for the students. The information and goodie bags will hopefully help spread awareness and fire safety tips these students learned throughout our community.
