Welcome to Silver Bluff Coach Lackey! There will be a Football Parent Night to meet Coach Lackey and go over summer expectations on Thursday, May 28th at 6:00 PM at the Bluff.
Coach Lem Lackey is a veteran high school coach with more than 19 years of leadership experience across Football, Track & Field, and Golf. Known for building disciplined, competitive, and academically grounded programs, he has compiled over 100 plus victories while leading multiple schools to championship caliber success by stressing the importance of developing student-athletes who excel on and off the field.
Coach Lackey recently served as the Head Football Coach and Head Track Coach at Fox Creek High School (2021-present), where he continues to elevate both programs through strong culture, player development, and facility advancement. His leadership has contributed to major athletic infrastructure improvements, including two new stadium builds and a full track-and-field renovation.
Before joining Fox Creek, he spent six years at Evans High School (2015-2021) as Head Football Coach and Head Track Coach, guiding both programs with a focus on consistency, character, and competitive growth.
Coach Lackey began his career at Laney High School (1997-2015), where he served in multiple roles: Head Football Coach, Head Track Coach, Head Golf Coach. His teams earned Football Region Championships in 2000, 2004, 2013, 2017, 2019, and 2020, along with deep playoff runs including quarterfinal appearance (2003, 2013) and semifinal appearances (2002, 2004). His track team captured Region Championships in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2017, and 2025 while producing three state champions.
A committed mentor, Coach Lackey has helped many student-athletes reach the college level, including two of the largest signing classes in school history (2008 and 2013). He has produced college signees in six of the last seven years and proudly coached two athletes who advanced to the NFL.
Across every program he leads, Coach Lackey is known for his integrity, his ability to build strong relationships, and his unwavering belief that athletics can shape young people into leaders. His career reflects a legacy of excellence, community impact, and championship-level coaching.
