The City of Aiken Engineering & Utilities Department Water Division is making a repair at the intersection of Rudy Mason Parkway and York St. (Near K J's Grocery Store). There will be a one lane closure for approximately 600 ft. in front of that Shopping Center. Please use caution while driving in the area. UPDATE: Work has completed for the day and will continue tomorrow.

The City of Aiken Engineering & Utilities Department has a contractor on Hitchcock Parkway in the vicinity of Huntsman Dr. relocating water lines. Today 1/19/21 an area of approximately a quarter mile will be 1 lane on Hitchcock Parkway. There will be a flagging operation and this will be until the C/O/B today. UPDATE JAN 13: Boil Water Advisory has been lifted for Huckleberry Court

UPDATE: WATER HAS BEEN RESTORED AND A BOIL WATER ADVISORY IN NOW IN EFFECT UP TO 48 HOURS.

The City of Aiken Engineering and Utilities Department has the water main supplying 9 homes on Huckleberry Ct. turned off to make repairs to the main. Residents have been notified by going door to door, and notices have been placed at the addresses that contact was not made.

Crews are en route to make repairs, and water service will be restored as soon as possible.

A Boil Water Advisory will be in effect once service is restored. Updates will be made available on the repair and the Boil Water Advisory.

UPDATE: Utility crews have neutralized the gas leak, but repairs are expected to continue for several more hours. Expect Richardson’s Lake Road to remain closed between Waters Edge and Wood Lake Drive until early morning December 23rd.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Due to a ruptured natural gas line Richardson's Lake Road is closed between Wood Lake Drive and Waters Edge Drive. There is NO through traffic on Richardson's Lake Road. Aiken Public Safety Officials have been in contact with utility repair crews and have been advised that the repairs could take several hours to complete.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the South Carolina Department of Transportation have been contacted as well to assist with establishing a route detour and the placement of barricades and appropriate traffic direction and signage. Please avoid the area at all possible.

The City of Aiken Engineering & Utilities is making a water repair at the intersection of Highland Park and Towncreek. The road is closed from the mentioned intersection all the way to Partridge Dr. At the moment, there is no water loss to homes. As more information is available, this post will be update.

If your home is experiencing loss of water, please be advised of a Boil Water Advisory once repair is made. Crews are notifying homes by door hanger and direct contact. The City of Aiken has hired a contractor to do a sanitary sewer system improvement on Chesterfield Street S. This project will begin Monday 11/9/2020. The parallel parking spots on the 100 block of Chesterfield Street S. will be coned off for no parking. There will be a lane shift and possible lane closure in this area. UPDATE: Water service has been restored. The Boil Water Advisory is now in place.

The City of Aiken Engineering and Utilities Department has the water main supplying approximately 85 customers turned off to make repairs to the water main and replace two main line valves.

The impacted customers are located on the following streets:
1. All homes on Deerwood Drive between Huntsman Drive and Fawnwood East & West to include the businesses in the Country Square Center located at Huntsman Drive and Hitchcock Parkway.
2. Homes on Cherry Hills Drive between Deerwood Drive and Inwood Drive
3. All homes on Inwood Drive
4. All homes on Buckhead Court
5. Homes located on Troon Way between Inwood Drive and Deerwood Drive

We will update once all work has been completed and water service has been restored

WATER SERVICE HAS BEEN RESTORED....City of Aiken Engineering and Utilities has issued a Boil Water Advisory on Huron Drive due to repair work to a water main. This advisory impacts the addresses of 2110 - 2158 Huron, all homes on Caw Caw Ct., 102 Savannah Dr., and 1358 Moultrie Dr. We will update as information becomes available.

ORIGINAL POST:
City of Aiken Engineering and Utilities has the water main on Huron Drive turned off between Moultrie and Savannah to make repairs to a water main. This affects approximately 20 homes with addresses of 2110 - 2158 Huron, all homes on Caw Caw Ct., 102 Savannah Dr., and 1358 Moultrie Dr. All affected customers will be under a boil water advisory once service is restored. The Boo Bash Drive-Thru will be October 31st, 2020 from 4:30pm – 6:00pm. This event will take place at four different locations: The Odell Weeks Activities Center, the Smith-Hazel Recreation Center, the Lessie B. Price Aiken Senior and Youth Center and the Aiken Visitors Center & Train Museum. The Boo-Bash Drive-Thru, an alternative to the former Trunk or Treat event, is set for safe, family-friendly fun, and of course, CANDY!

We encourage families to boo-ckle up for an eerie-sistible time! This event is for families with children ages 12 & under. Pre-made treat bags will be provided at each location. Admission is free.

UPDATE: Traffic has restored to normal for the rest of today. However, crews will return Friday morning, Oct 23, at approximately 8:30 AM. Both northbound lanes closed, and all northbound traffic will be directed into the median. Please proceed with caution.

Engineering and Utilities has one south bound lane of Columbia Highway North closed off to make repairs to a water line. The median is closed as well. This repair is located in the 1900 block of Columbia Highway North between Millrace Circle and Summer Lakes Neighborhood. Please use caution while in this area as crews are making the necessary repair. We will update once all work is complete and traffic has been restored to normal.

City of Aiken Utilities is shutting the water main off on St. Andrews Way. The following streets will be affected: St. Andrews Way, Turnberry Ct. North and South, Perth Ct. North and South and Carnoustie Ct. There are approximately 40 houses affected. Notices are being handed out. This post will be updated when the repair is made. There were approximately 50 homes without water for 15 minutes due to a water main break on Crescent Point. The repair is complete; once the Boil Water Advisory is lifted, we will update this Alert.
