Cutting edge work is underway by The Davey Tree Expert Company at the company's Science, Employee Education, and Development, or SEED, Campus in Kent 🌳

Today, our team toured the facility, which opened last year. We learned about Davey's new training facilities — including an inside climbing training center and outdoor 50-ft. canopy walk — in addition to multiple research laboratories and classrooms.

With over 12,000 employees, Davey is committed to recruiting and retaining top talent, and the SEED Campus is a testament of their dedication to keeping employees engaged.

How tax policies impact our communities and statewide economic competitiveness was front and center this week at the Akron-Canton Advocacy Alliance Tax Roundtable with Ohio lawmakers.

Thank you to State Representatives Bill Roemer, David Thomas, and Jack Daniels for an engaging discussion on the issues shaping Ohio's tax landscape. Here's the key findings from the event:

🔸Ohio lawmakers continue to balance tax reform with the need to fund essential government services — this will be a core theme in Ohio’s upcoming gubernatorial election.
🔸 In 2027, property tax relief will remain a top priority and additional reforms that go beyond recently enacted legislation are currently under consideration.
🔸 Efforts to modernize Ohio's R&D tax credit and improve the state's business tax climate are viewed as critical to attracting investment and creating jobs and regional advocates are urging legislative solutions.
🔸 Many tax issues related to property and municipal income taxes involve both state policy and local government decision-making, which makes meaningful reform a complex process.
