Wisner Township

Wisner Township Wisner Township is located in Tuscola County in the state of Michigan. The township board meets monthly at 7 PM on the third Monday of each month.

The population was 690 at the 2010 census. A rural community, the main industry is agriculture. The township was first organized in 1861 and named after Moses Wisner, Governor of Michigan from 1859-1861. The township has a total area of 25.7 square miles, of which 19.4 square miles is land and 6.3 square miles is water. Bradleyville, Oakhurst, Quanicassee and Wisner are unincorporated communities located within the township.

Special Wisner Township Planning Commission meeting on Wednesday, August 26 at 7:00 PM. Attorney Brian Garner has been working on a proposed amendment to our current Zoning Ordinance as it relates to Data Centers.

Michigan's Zoning Enabling Act allows local units of government to regulate the development and use of land; and to provide for the adoption of zoning ordinances.

It is up to our citizens and leaders to decide for what type of land use to want to allow in our township, and where it will be located.

We invite you to attend and become informed about decisions made at the township level. Every meeting includes public comment and we want to hear from YOU.

Wisner Emergency Services millage renewal passed 107 yes, no 40
Tuscola 911 millage request passed 8,941 yes, 4,677 no
Mosquito Control millage request passed 10,294 yes, 3,382 no
Road Commission elected-to-appointed failed 3,181 yes, 10,316 no
