🚨 Attention Akron Residents 🚨

Today we received feedback from Van's Sanitation regarding recycling totes. Drivers are reporting that they are seeing A LOT of trash bags in recycling carts. Unfortunately, most of the time it’s too late to correct because the carts are already being dumped into the truck.

Drivers will begin tagging carts when this occurs. Please review the recycling guidelines below and help us keep our recycling program running properly.

Recycling Reminders:
❌ NO TRASH BAGS (If bagged, they must be clear or blue recycling bags ONLY)

❌ NO SHOPPING BAGS OR GROCERY STORE BAGS

❌ NO WOOD OR CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS

❌ NO BIG RIGID PLASTICS (toys, laundry baskets, storage totes, etc.)

❌ NO GLASS

❌ NO STYROFOAM

❌ NO TRASH (No diapers, no food, no clothing, no shoes)
