We believe that our small school size combined with creative and inspired teachers results in higher student engagement and truly effective learning. This gives students an opportunity to meet their potential in interpersonal relationships and academic studies.

Mission: ALA is a H.E.A.R.T. based family that fosters our students' eagerness for lifelong learning, and their development of moral character and practical life skills, while preparing them to contribute as valuable members of our community.

STEAM Supply For Kinders, a project from Mrs. Jnani's Kindergarten

Subject: For a limited time, doubled donations when you help my students!

Hi Friends,

I want to make sure my students have exactly what they need to succeed, so I've created a project through DonorsChoose, the nonprofit classroom funding site for public school teachers.

Why I’m emailing you today: Right now, any contribution you make to my project will be doubled by Kleenex® Brand. This is an amazing opportunity for my students! Your donation will brighten my students' school year.

Here's my project:

STEAM Supply For Kinders

To have your donation matched, just make a contribution on that page. (Donations will be doubled automatically, but only while funding lasts.)

Thank you for considering a gift to my class!

School Reopening / Daily Screening Checklist for Parents

Message from Alachua County School District

To the families of students attending brick and mortar schools:

We know many of you are very pleased about the reopening of brick and mortar schools. We want to keep them open safely, but we need your help.

If your child has symptoms of COVID or any other illness, they must remain at home! If your child has had significant contact with someone who has COVID (meaning they’ve been within 6 feet for 15 minutes), they must remain at home! If your child has tested positive for COVID, they must remain at home!

We recognize this can be very inconvenient. But sending a child to school with COVID, with symptoms or with significant contact puts other children and staff at risk. It also means those other children and staff may have to be isolated, which of course would be a hardship for them and their families.

Please review the district's screening form each morning before sending your child to school. It is available online at:

https://fl02219191.schoolwires.net/Page/30096

We are all in this together! The more we all do to help prevent the spread of COVID in our schools and community, the sooner we can get through this pandemic.

Thank you for being a part of the solution!

Before sending your child to school each morning, please check for the symptoms listed below. If your child has any of these symptoms, please keep them home. If your child exhibits any of these symptoms at school, you will be asked to pick them up immediately.

14 Ways to Virtually Celebrate Teachers During COVID-19 | Our Children

Don’t forget It’s still teacher appreciation week ! It’s not too late to #thankateacher!

Dear teachers,

Thanks for all that you did today and everyday in your google classroom or zoom …
For making a million little split-second decisions for the benefit of your students.
For putting your own needs on hold and keeping them the focus of your day.
For planning for them long before today ever got rolling.
For changing those plans because they didn’t fit someone who needed a little extra. ( classroom assignments, paper packets, videos and giving extra time)
For smiling, laughing with them and reassuring their efforts, trials and mistakes.
For getting down on the physical level/ google meet or zoom for your students because it matters.
For thinking of a new way to reach someone who wasn’t getting it.( emails, remind, class dojo, FB groups, messengers, text, notes, songs, dance, scavenger hunts, brag wall, gifs, bitmoji, and phone calls)
You matter.
Yes –
You matter.
Thank you ALA teachers !!

Where can I find a list of school supplies needed for each grade?
Is the county rethinking about reopening school? Someone said they saw it on the news. All this is so stressful.
When are we going to know how is this school year going to look like? Alachua School Board is not listing ALA as part of their distance learning program.
Hello all - my son, Shreev, would like to share his love of math with the community. He has created a youtube channel, he shows tricks to do problems faster, concepts he used to solve these problems, competition math problems for elementary, middle and high school students, riddles in a fun way. A good way to learn some problem solving during lockdown. Hope you subscribe to it.
Congratulations to my first 1st grade at ALA!! I’m so proud of all of you!! 🎉🌈🌸🎊❤️

Just learned that trunk or treat is cancelled due to "lack of interest" and today was the first time I had even heard about it. What a shame, because we were definitely interested.
I forgot to ask at meet the teacher— For kindergarten is everyday 8-1:45 or is it earlier on Wednesday’s?
Good morning this will be our first year here and I was wondering what the bell schedule was?
Will someone please send me the guidelines for the school uniforms?
