Warming Shelter in Alameda open this Saturday (Dec 23rd)!

Opening Friday, December 23, Alameda’s Winter Warming Shelter provides a warm place to sleep, dinner, breakfast, toiletries and clothes, and limited overnight storage every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during the colder winter months ahead. Showers are available Wednesdays and Fridays from 6-8pm, and one approved pet is welcome per guest.

Many thanks to the Christ Episcopal Church who is once again hosting the Warming Shelter at their facility on 1700 Santa Clara Avenue. Warming Shelter guests should enter through the Grand Street parking lot.

makes the and in this case spreads . In partnership with the Alameda Fire Department , The Housing Authority of the City of Alameda (AHA) hosted a holiday gift card distribution event on Friday, Dec 16th at AHA’s Esperanza housing community.

In all, 200+ AHA households registered which resulted in 477 AHA children receiving a $35 Target gift-card. In addition to a gift-card, each household received a raffle ticket to receive a toy that originated from a organized by staff from the College of Alameda Peralta Colleges. The housing application for will become available starting at 8am on January 17th and will close at 5pm on February 7th. The will begin to accept applications via the Alameda County Housing Portal (https://housing.acgov.org/listings) on January 17th. Rosefield Village is a mixed income family housing development that offers affordable housing options for Alameda’s low-income residents. There will be studio, 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom units available that will serve households earning 20-80% of the Area Median Income.

Rosefield Village is a new housing development located at 727 Buena Vista Avenue in the City of Alameda, with convenient access to services and public transportation.

In partnership with Alameda Food Bank , AHA staff volunteers their time twice a month to pack and distribute food to 140+ AHA households.
