One of the questions we hear most often is: Who can adopt through Family Builders? The simple answer is: more people than you might think.
Our foster and adoptive families come from many different backgrounds. They are married couples, single adults, LGBTQ+ individuals and couples, relatives, grandparents, empty nesters, and people from every race, ethnicity, faith, and profession.
What they have in common isn't a certain income, career, or family structure. It's a commitment to providing a safe, stable, and loving family for a child or youth who needs one.
Many of the children and youth waiting for permanency are older, part of a sibling group, or have experienced trauma and loss. They don't need perfect parents, but they need caring adults who are willing to show up, offer patience, and build lasting relationships.
Every prospective family receives training, guidance, and ongoing support from Family Builders before, during, and after placement. No one does this work alone.
