๐ข PUBLIC NOTICE โ UNCLAIMED PROPERTY HELD BY THE ALAMO POLICE DEPARTMENT ๐ข
The Alamo Police Department is currently holding property recovered during investigations, including items that are lost, found, stolen, or abandoned, and which remain unclaimed.
Pursuant to the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, Chapter 47, and Article 18.17, individuals who believe they are the rightful owners of such property are urged to contact the department within 30 to 60 days of this notice and provide proof of ownership (such as purchase receipts, photos, serial numbers, or detailed descriptions).
โ๏ธ Relevant Legal Authority:
CCP Art. 47.01โ47.03: Allows rightful owners to petition for the return of stolen or seized property.
CCP Art. 18.17: Authorizes disposal of unclaimed property after it has remained in custody for a minimum of 30 days following notice, if no rightful claim is made.
Texas Local Government Code ยง 341.903: Governs the holding and lawful disposal of unclaimed property by municipal police departments.
If no valid claim is made within the legal timeframe, the property may be lawfully disposed of, auctioned, or retained for official use as allowed by law.
