Traverse Jurors who reported today: Thank you so much for showing up for our county. Sorry it has taken me so long to get your pay cards uploaded, but it is done now. If you need an excuse for work, I am sorry that we didn't get that done today. Call the office tomorrow, and my staff will assist you with that. We'll be glad to email it to you, send it by snail mail, or have it ready for you to pick up.

Traverse Jurors scheduled for today need to be here by 12:30. Thank you, Carol Bragg-CSC

Traverse Jurors summoned for April 20th are to report to the courthouse as ordered at 12:30 p.m. If this changes, and you have submitted your questionnaire as you were supposed to do, we will call you. If you forgot to do that, call the office at 912-568-7137 after 11:00 am to check the status. If you are unable to reach us using a landline - try using your cell phone. We've had phone issues with Kinetic - trying to call out and people calling in to us. Using cell phones has seemed to work. I do not have FB on the courtroom computer, so please do not message this page or my personal FB tomorrow morning - I probably won't see it. Thanks, Carol

Apparently there is a Kinetic issue with phones in Alamo today [started yesterday]. If you need to reach us, you can PM us here. or send an email, if you have my or one of my DCs' address. Sorry - I am not comfortable sharing that on this platform. I will check for messages periodically until phone service is restored.

If anyone is planning to visit the Wheeler County Courthouse today, please be aware that repaving is being done on Pearl Avenue in front of the Courthouse. Do not attempt to come in on Pine Street, as you will run right into it. When I came to work just now, that street was not blocked off, so you won't know until you get to Pearl that you shouldn't come that way. Use an alternate route. Love to see the progress in our little community!

Traverse Jurors summoned to report Tuesday, February 17th, are released from their summons and DO NOT HAVE TO REPORT. You may go about your business as normal, with the deep thanks of the Court and your Clerk. Thank you for your willingness to serve as a Juror this term. Taking time off from work or away from your business or family can sometimes be very disruptive to a busy schedule, but your time spent here is important and vital to the court system.

In the United States of America, we enjoy many civil liberties, but we also have two important civic duties: voting and serving jury duty. The former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Georgia, Harold D. Melton, said in a series of public service announcements, that “the right to trial by jury is fundamental to the American system of justice.” For those who have awaited their ‘day in court’, your willingness to serve in this vital role has helped the Court perform this important function.

Please do not hesitate to call upon me at any time if I can be of assistance.

With best wishes and sincere regards,
Carol

Traverse Jurors summoned to report Tuesday, February 3rd, are to report as ordered by 8:45 a.m. Dress in layers because the courtroom may be cool. Right now, the jury room is very cold - but hopefully it will be working tomorrow.
