HIDALGO COUNTY SHELTER AT HOME ORDER EXTENDED
In his capacity as the county’s Emergency Management Director, Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez has extended the county’s Shelter at Home order. The new order goes into effect on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at 12:01 a.m. and remains in effect until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2020.
“In these past two weeks, our residents have adhered to the shelter at home order which has helped our community slow the spread of COVID-19,” said Judge Cortez. “We are asking the public to continue practicing the recommendations of our medical experts by continuing to shelter at home, wear a mask and practice good hygiene.”
Judge Cortez will host a Facebook Live event on Thursday, August 6 at 3 p.m. to discuss the extended emergency orders. The new orders include additional safety measures for those 65 and older, commercial covered entities, and establishments such as bars, flea markets, and farmers markets.
