This project will be under the cover of a larger CDOT project known as “Federal Aid Project No. FSA 1602-159 US HIGHWAY No. 160 Construction Project Code No. 21138”. The CDOT project contractor will remove the existing asphalt pavement for the US 160 and SH 17 Intersection Project, provide traffic control for the entire project duration and will provide intersection re-alignment and concrete paving of the ultimate roadway section. The project will require the contractor to coordinate with other utilities and contractors. The installation of the proposed sanitary sewer will be phased and may require two mobilizations and demobilizations. The phasing may be subject to changes as the CDOT contractor is selected.

This is IMPORTANT!!!!
PLEASE READ: URGENT
DO NOT FLUSH ANYTHING OTHER THAN TOILET PAPER DOWN ANY TOILET! You must use your trash receptacle for anything other than toilet paper.
The City has lost the use of two sanitary lift stations in the last 24 hours due to flushed wipes and/or paper towels. They were repaired overnight by employees working overtime.
Flushing wipes, even wipes labeled as "flushable" could cause widespread system malfunction. PLEASE STOP DOING THAT RIGHT NOW. Thank you.
In practice of responsible social distancing, EAWS customers can use our handy door-drop box for payments, or pay your bill online at https://eastalamosaws.colorado.gov/pay-my-bill. The office is still open and fully staffed should you need any other assistance.
City of Alamosa
We are aware that many of you are using baby wipes or other products as a toilet paper substitute due to the current shortage. IT IS IMPORTANT that you dispose of them in a trash can instead of flushing them down any toilet.
FLUSHABLE WIPES ARE NOT SAFE for your plumbing or ours. Please don't flush wipes, even when they are labeled "flushable." It requires your hard earned $$ to open clogged pipes and keep our wastewater system functioning.
