We just wanted to take a moment to give a special thank you to the Albany Masonic Lodge #466 for recognizing all of our first responders last night.

This line of work can place a tremendous amount of strain on first responders and their families. Knowing that the sacrifices our responders—and the families who stand behind them—make every day to keep our community safe do not go unnoticed or unappreciated means more to us than words can express.

Special thank you to Sheriff Jason Ard and Chief Deputy Brian Smith for attending and recognizing the commitment of Albany’s Fire and Police Departments to our community. We could not do what we do without the continued support and partnership of the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office.

We would like to congratulate Mayor Eileen McCarroll on her upcoming retirement and thank her for her many years of service to our community.

One of the Mayor’s famous sayings is, “We are not in Mayberry anymore.” We couldn’t agree more, and we would like to thank Mayor McCarroll for her leadership and for helping prepare us to meet the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Her hard work, dedication, and commitment to this town and its employees cannot be overstated.

Congratulations on your retirement, Mayor McCarroll, and thank you for your dedicated service to the Town of Albany!

To Mayor-elect Jerry Glascock, as well as all of our current and incoming council members, we thank you for your continued support. We look forward to working together as a team to keep our community safe, strong, and prosperous for years to come.

Team Albany would not be what it is today without Chief Foster and Chief Wild’s commitment to working together, supporting one another, and putting the needs of our community first. That teamwork is what makes Albany special.

Most importantly, thank you to our community for continuing to trust, support, and stand behind our departments.

ONE PILL CAN KILL UPDATES!

We are extremely excited to announce that the football equipment we purchased has finally arrived!

Once again, we cannot thank all of our partners with the One Pill Can Kill team enough. By working together, we were able to purchase over $50,000 worth of football equipment for the athletes of Albany and Springfield!

This would not have been possible without everyone’s support, teamwork, and commitment to our local youth. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this possible.

PARENTS — PLEASE READ AND SHARE!

We have heard your concerns regarding afternoon school traffic, and we want you to know that we are listening.

Yes, some things have changed from last year. After receiving several concerns and suggestions about last year’s process, we are working to make afternoon pickup safer and easier for everyone—our parents, our schools, our students, and our officers.

We are still working to determine the best way to manage the pickup lines this year. It is a work in progress, and we are trying several different approaches to find what works best. Our goal is to make the process as safe, efficient, and convenient as possible, with the safety of our students always being our top priority.

We ask that parents please be patient, bear with us, and work with us as we continue to address the issues and work out the kinks. We understand that changes can sometimes be frustrating, and we truly appreciate your patience and cooperation.

If you have questions or concerns about what we are doing or why certain things are being done, please feel free to stop by the Town Hall during regular business hours and speak with one of our administrators. We would be happy to listen to your concerns and answer any questions you may have.

Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and understanding as we work together to make this process better and safer for everyone.

We hope all of our students, parents, teachers, and staff have a great and safe school year!

There is maintenance being done to the traffic lights at Highway 43 and James Chapel rd. We are asking that the public please drive cautious and pay attention to temporary lane closures through this area. We also have crews and Officers on foot near/on the roadways.

We would like to give another HUGE thank you to our partners, Travis Mikel and Cody Jones with the Albany Youth Association (AYA), and the Springfield Youth Association (SYA), along with our partners from Alpha54 Group, Trevor Smith and Bart Morris. We'd like to extend a special thank you to Sublijunki LLC. for outfitting our coaches, instructors, and athletes with custom camp shirts, as well as the administration at Albany High School and Springfield High for allowing us to use their facilities to host these camps.

We'd also like to give a huge thank you to Parish President Randy Delatte, the entire Livingston Parish Council, Mr. Glenn Lemoine, and the entire ONE PILL CAN KILL team.

Last, but certainly not least, we want to thank all of the parents and guardians who brought their athletes to and from our camps. It cannot be overstated how respectful, well-mannered, and enthusiastic every participant was at both camps. They represented their families and communities extremely well, and we couldn't be more proud of them.

When communities come together with a common goal, incredible things can happen. Without every one of these people and organizations working together to invest in the youth of our communities, these camps would not have been possible.

If we're fortunate enough to continue receiving this level of support, we'd love to keep growing these camps and providing even more opportunities for our young athletes in the future.

Stay tuned... we're just getting started. We still have BIG things to come!
