Yesterday our staff met with Albany Mayor Dr. Dorcey Applyrs and had a frank and open conversation regarding Building & Code Enforcement in the City of Albany. Our department of Buildings & Regulatory Compliance is 💙

Help keep Albany safe as a Code Enforcement Inspector!

You’ll inspect existing residential and commercial buildings and properties to make sure they are in compliance with all City & NY State codes, laws, and regulations.

🧡Responsibilities include:

•Inspect structures and property on schedule, including but not limited to residential dwelling units and commercial establishments
•Provide information to landlords, property owners, tenants, and the general public regarding laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations
•Assist customers with questions and concerns relating to permits, filing, and registration procedures
•Investigate complaints against properties and structures
•Prepare reports and recommendations based on inspections, reinspection’s, or investigations
•Performs data entry and run reports/schedules
•Help with orientation and training of Code Enforcement Inspector Trainees
