That’s a wrap on the inaugural 2026 SWGA Regional Housing Summit! 🏠✨

Three days. Meaningful conversations. Powerful connections. A shared vision for the future of housing across Southwest Georgia. 🤝🏽💙

From addressing housing shortages and homelessness to exploring funding opportunities, community investment, economic impact, and collaborative solutions, this summit brought leaders and partners together to tackle the issues that matter most to our communities.

We listened. We learned. We connected. And most importantly, we began building pathways toward action. 🏘️

Thank you to Southwest Georgia Housing Task Force, Albany State University, Renasant Bank, every speaker, panelist, partner, attendee, volunteer, and community leader who helped make these three days possible.

The conversation started here. Now, the work begins.

During Day 3 of the 2026 SWGA Regional Housing Summit, Mr. Mitchell Davenport of the Lockwood Development led an important conversation on the Economic Impact of Housing in the Community.

The session highlighted the connection between housing and economic opportunity, reminding us that investing in housing is also an investment in the people and communities we serve. 🤝🏽💙

When communities have access to quality housing, everyone has a greater opportunity to thrive.

Housing is community. Housing is opportunity. Housing is economic development.

Day 3 of the inaugural 2026 SWGA Regional Housing Summit brought the conversation full circle, focusing on alignment, investment, and the broader impact of housing on our communities. 🏠🤝🏽

The day began with "Aligning Efforts, Amplifying Change,” led by Dr. Junious Williams of the Southwest Georgia Housing Task Force, exploring a collective impact approach to community transformation. 💙

We then turned our attention to “Leveraging Funding: Accessing Affordable Capital,” moderated by Ms. Patricia Fletcher-Edwards, with Thelma Johnson, Katie Chastain, and Eugene Nguyen sharing insights on accessing resources, funding opportunities, and creating greater possibilities for housing investment. 💰🏘️

After lunch, the conversation continued with “Economic Impact of Housing in the Community,” featuring Mr. Mitchell Davenport of the Lockwood Properties and examining how housing plays a critical role in the economic strength and future of our communities. 📈🏠

Day 3 reinforced an important message: when we align our efforts, leverage our resources, and understand the full impact of housing, we create greater possibilities for lasting community transformation.

The day was filled with meaningful conversations focused on collaboration, resources, and real solutions for housing across Southwest Georgia.

From Coordinated Entry and Supportive Services to State of Regional Housing: How My Community Is Responding, we heard from leaders working on the front lines and learned how communities are responding to their unique housing challenges. 🤝🏽

Day 2 reminded us that lasting change takes partnership, investment, and action.💙

Two days in, the conversations continue to challenge us, connect us, and inspire us to keep working toward stronger communities.

Day 2 of the inaugural 2026 SWGA Regional Housing Summit was filled with meaningful conversations and a shared commitment to strengthening our communities. 🏠🤝🏽

We explored the State of Housing in Southwest Georgia, Affordable Housing vs. Low-Income Housing, and The State of Homelessness in Albany, while also hearing how communities across the region are responding to their unique housing needs. 🏘️

From housing shortages and development opportunities to homelessness and community investment, the conversations made one thing clear: housing is about people, families, stability, and the future of our communities. 💙

The work continues, but so does the opportunity to create meaningful change together.

Another important conversation took place during the 2026 SWGA Regional Housing Summit: The State of Homelessness in Albany, Georgia.🏠💙

Moderated by Dr. Debra Wiley of the Southwest Georgia Housing Task Force , the panel brought together leaders from housing, public safety, community services, and nonprofit organizations to discuss collaborative strategies for transformative change. 🤝🏽
