Black socialist revolutionary George Jackson, 55 years after he murdered at the hands of a San Quentin prison guard.

In the words of Walter Rodney,
ā€œGeorge Jackson, like Malcolm X before him, educated himself painfully behind prison bars to the point where his clear vision of historical and contemporary reality and his ability to communicate his perspective frightened the U.S. power structure into physically liquidating him.ā€

Jacksonā€™s assassination, along with the sacrifice of countless other revolutionaries, was the catalyst for the development of Black August, and sparked a decade of widespread organizing and political struggle within prisons that won many reforms.

George Jackson showed us that the prison walls canā€™t contain the fight for revolution & liberation and that we must unite and take action against our oppressors.

Release the dragon! Free all political prisoners!

Since the end of June, ICE has been rampant throughout the nation, kidnapping and murdering innocent people in targeted raids after the Trump regimeā€™s new goal of 2000+ abductions per day. Albany has been no exception, with dozens of our neighbors being harassed, abducted, and detained.

We are organizing a working class movement to abolish ICE and end the racist system of capitalism that upholds it!

EMERGENCY PROTEST:
Rise up this Saturday to stop ICEā€™s killing spree!

On July 7, ICE agents murdered Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston. Less than a week later, ICE murdered Joan Sebastian Guerrero in Maine.

These deaths are not accidental - they are the direct result of the Trump administrationā€™s war on working-class immigrant communities, a war which is now demanding agents arrest 2,000 people per day.

The vast majority of the country opposes the racist deportation drive Trump is waging in our communities. We want justice, equality and full rights for all immigrants. Now we must stand up and refuse to allow this violence to go unchallenged!

Join us this Saturday, July 18 at the Citizens Bank on Western Ave to demand that the bank stops funding and profiting from ICE kidnappings via investments in CoreCivic and GEO Group and to demand that the city of Albany take immediate action to get ICE off our streets! Come with us as we celebrate the peopleā€™s history of Albany and learn more about the UGRR Education Center , home of the great Stephen and Harriet Myers, and a beacon for liberation in the Capital Region.

From their home on Livingston Avenue, Stephen and Harriet ran one of the most organized andā€Øcrucial hubs of the Underground Railroad in New York State, risking everything to help people escape bondages that families like the Schuylers built their wealth upon.

This July 4th, as the ruling class celebrates 250 years of empire-we remember Stephen, Harriet, and the countless freedom fighters who came before us. Together, we can carry their fight forward and end the war on Black America once and for all!

America has turned 250, yet our people are still shackled and chained. Over the last week, weā€™ve been flooded with the patriotism of slave owners, genociders, and criminals of humanity. Making it clear that there are two realities in this country. One for the ruling class. And another for theā€Øoppressed and hyper-exploited.

While they write musicals about their heroes, we must fight to remember and carry on the legacies of our own. Our real heritage is our peoples struggle. Itā€™s the Myers, not the Schuylers. Itā€™s Harriet, not Hamilton.
Itā€™s Huey and the Panthers, not the Democrats.

REPARATIONS ARE PAST DUE IN NEWBURGH!

New Yorkā€™s participation in chattel slavery is often hidden behind the myth of the ā€œfree Northā€. But in truth, when it came to slave owning during the early colonial period, New York was second only to South Carolina. For over a century, Black people have demanded compensation from the U.S. government and corporations for the horrors of slavery and Jim Crow apartheid. But The ruling class have shown us that they have no interest in returning the wealth theyā€™ve stolen.

While the Trump administration pushes right wing propaganda for their 250 year celebrations, we must refuse to let the history of slavery be erased. It is up to us to build the movement that will win reparations & end the war on Black America! Swipe to learn more āž”ļø
