Our colobus monkeys spend most of their day munching on leaves, grooming each other, and practicing long jumps.

In the wild, colobus monkeys can leap over 50 feet! But our colobus monkeys just like to leap to their food bowls.

Today we’re celebrating Save the Rhino Day and the incredible importance of rhinos in the wild. These amazing animals help shape their ecosystems, but all five species of rhinoceros are facing serious threats.

Rhinos are in trouble mostly because of poaching and habitat loss. Rhinos are hunted illegally for their horns, and as wild spaces shrink, it gets harder for them to survive and raise calves. Since they don’t have fast reproduction rates, even small population drops make a big impact.

To celebrate the beginning of Spring, the Park was filled with visitors excited to engage with the outdoors and interact with more than 20 different partners dedicated to conservation and education at the Upland Wildlife Festival.

Chehaw teams across all departments are still beaming ear to ear celebrating the success of the first Annual Upland Wildlife Festival. We thank all of our educators, artisans, vendors, sponsors, and year-round partners in conservation and hope everyone will save the date for the next year, April 16 & 17, 2027!
