Ocean View Otters... Get your feet walking and wheels rolling –
International Walk and Roll to School Day is on Wednesday October 12, 2022! Students across Alameda county will celebrate walking, bicycling, skating, scooting, and using carpool to get to school. On Walk and Roll to School Day, look for the Walk and Roll table in front of Ocean View school.

Hi Ocean View parents! A quick update from the OV PTA and request for volunteers!

We are really happy to announce that we managed to put together a wonderful slate of parent and teacher volunteers for the 2022–2023 Ocean View PTA (see below). We are hoping to find a few additional volunteers who want to help out in the following positions:

-- Financial Secretary
-- Room Parent Coordinator
-- Parliamentarian
-- Reflections Program Coordinator

If you are interested in any of these positions, how much volunteer time is involved, etc., I'm happy to answer questions here, or you may email me at [email protected].

Also! In the next few weeks we'll be opening our online Ocean View Spirit Wear Store with lots of great otter wear, including Tie-dye otter t-shirts and hoodies (among many other styles). I'll post more information in this space sometime soon.

Hi Ocean View parents! If you have time to write a short paragraph about why an Ocean View teacher "exemplifies excellence in the classroom," this is all it takes to nominate them for an Outstanding Educator's Award (sponsored by the California PTA and McDonald's). A number of parents in Albany have written a letter to Mayor Jordan and Albany City Council Members asking them "to act decisively to immediately condemn the proliferation of assault weapons and to demand stringent control on all fi****ms."

We're collecting signatures so we can deliver this letter next week. We'd really appreciate having your signature! Please comment below if you'd like us to add your name!

We owe this to our children to act. We've heard enough “thoughts and prayers” from leaders.

The Ocean View PTA is looking for volunteers to form the election committee. The Election committee will be responsible for collecting nominations for the 2022/2023 PTA Board and hosting the election meeting in April. This committee holds a very low time commitment of an hour or less per week. Please sign up using this link:
