If you’re thinking about applying for a Preserve NY grant to fund a cultural resource survey or historic district nomination but aren’t sure how to incorporate an arts component into your project, this Zoom meeting is for you. League staff will go over the new grant guidelines and goals, and have examples of how you might work with artists to make your preservation planning projects even more impactful. Tune in Thursday, July 16, 10:30 a.m. Link in bio to register for the Zoom and learn more about the grants.
Preserve NY Arts + Culture: Support for Arts-Based Community Preservation Projects, is a regrant partnership of and the Preservation League of NYS made possible with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, with additional support provided by the Maurice D. Hinchey for projects in the Hudson River Valley Greenway.
Support for Arts-Based Community Preservation Projects helps fund cultural resource surveys or historic district nominations. By documenting historic resources and their context, these projects help communities plan for the future, tell a more complete and inclusive history, identify opportunities for investment, and foster arts and culture activities in historic places. NEW in 2026: Projects must have an arts component; in addition to hiring a preservation consultant to complete a survey or historic district, applicants will also hire a NYS-based artist to lead community engagement that responds to and/or engages with the survey/historic district work.
