Matawalle Unveils Logo, Reaffirms Loyalty and Support for President Tinubu

Former Governor of Zamfara State and Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Matawalle, has formally unveiled the Movement Logo.

The movement is a nationwide political and grassroots mobilization platform aimed at consolidating support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and advancing the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda across the country.

The launch is marked by the unveiling of the Movement’s official logo, which prominently features the images of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and Dr. Matawalle, the Founder and Convener of the initiative.

Speaking on the significance of the unveiling, the Movement described the logo as a symbol of its unwavering commitment to sustaining, promoting, and expanding the vision, policies, and achievements of the Tinubu administration in every part of Nigeria.

The emergence of the Movement is widely seen as a demonstration of Matawalle’s enduring loyalty to President Tinubu and his strong conviction in the administration’s reform agenda. Since joining the Federal Government, Matawalle has consistently been one of the President’s most vocal supporters, frequently defending the administration’s policies and advocating for their long-term benefits to Nigerians.

According to the Movement, its primary objective is to ensure that the message of the Renewed Hope Agenda reaches citizens at the grassroots level, with structures extending to wards, local government areas, and states across the federation.

“The Movement represents a collective commitment to nation-building and the continued advancement of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” the organization stated. “It is dedicated to ensuring that the policies, reforms, achievements, and developmental strides of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu resonate with Nigerians in every community across the country.”

The Movement further noted that it would serve as a platform for public engagement, civic mobilization, and advocacy, helping to deepen awareness of the administration’s achievements while fostering greater citizen participation in the national development process.

The Movement’s focus on community-level engagement is expected to strengthen public understanding of key government policies and their impact on economic growth, infrastructure development, security, and social welfare.

For Matawalle, the launch underscores not only his political alignment with President Tinubu but also his belief that the administration’s ongoing reforms are laying the foundation for a more prosperous and stable Nigeria. The former governor has repeatedly argued that despite the short-term challenges associated with major economic reforms, the long-term gains will position the country for sustainable growth and development.

As the Movement begins operations nationwide, its leadership says it will work to mobilize supporters, promote public enlightenment, and build a broad coalition of Nigerians committed to consolidating the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Envoy to Mexico, Reno Omokri, defends Tinubu's economic record, says Nigeria
better economically than in 2023

Former presidential aide and Ambassador-Designate to Mexico, Reno Omokri, has defended the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, pointing out that Nigeria is in a better economic position today than it was when the President assumed office in 2023.

In a statement released on his social media handles, Omokri cited a number of economic indicators and government programmes which demonstrate improvements in the country's economy and the welfare of Nigerians.

According to him, Nigeria's inflation rate, which stood at 23 per cent before President Tinubu took office, has dropped to 15.9 per cent. He also noted that the national minimum wage has increased from ₦30,000 to ₦70,000 under the current administration.

Omokri further stated that allocations shared monthly by the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) to states and local governments have risen significantly.

"Before President Tinubu, FAAC shared an average of ₦700 billion monthly to states and local governments. Today, the figure is estimated at ₦2.1 trillion monthly," he said.

He argued that the increase in allocations has improved the financial position of sub-national governments, noting that while many states reportedly struggled to pay salaries in 2022, all states are now able to meet their wage obligations.

The ambassador-designate also highlighted Nigeria's foreign reserves, which he said have risen to $51.04 billion, describing it as the highest level recorded in 17 years.

On education, Omokri praised the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), stating that about one-third of Nigeria's 3.1 million university undergraduates have benefited from the student loan scheme introduced by the Tinubu administration.

He also pointed to the relative stability in the university system, noting that the last three years have witnessed no nationwide strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

"In this administration, a four-year course remains a four-year course," he said.

Omokri further commended the government's infrastructure drive, citing major road projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the Illela-Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, and the Trans-Saharan Road as evidence of efforts to improve connectivity across the country.

He also claimed that Nigeria has moved from being Africa's largest importer of refined petroleum products in 2022 to becoming the largest exporter of refined petroleum products in West Africa.

According to him, the country's economy has recorded twelve consecutive quarters of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth and trade surpluses, contributing to increased manufacturing capacity.

Omokri urged Nigerians to assess the country's progress based on available economic data and developments.

"I appeal to Nigerians to put things in their proper perspective and refuse to allow uninformed elements to confuse them. Nigeria is definitely better today than it was in 2023," he stated.

The remarks come amid continuing public debate over the impact of the Tinubu administration's economic reforms and their effects on the cost of living and overall economic wellbeing of Nigerians.

TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER IN THE AGE OF ECONOMIC SOVEREIGNTY By Khalil Suleiman Halilu.

“Nigeria has pursued industrialisation before. From the indigenisation policies of the 1970s to various industrial development plans and local content initiatives, successive governments have sought to strengthen domestic production. While these efforts achieved varying degrees of success, many encountered a common challenge: ownership was transferred more easily than capability.”

President Tinubu’s Fiscal Reset and the New Wealth of Nigeria’s States.

“In May 2023, the total monthly allocation distributed to the 36 states through the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) stood at N343.08 billion. By April 2026, that figure had risen to N708.18 billion. In just under three years, aggregate monthly allocations to states increased by more than 106 per cent.

More striking is the fact that every state in the federation recorded an increase. The average gain across states was approximately 128 per cent, meaning that many states more than doubled—and in some cases nearly tripled—their monthly allocations.

This transformation is largely the fiscal dividend of two major reforms: the removal of fuel subsidy and the restructuring of the foreign exchange regime.”
