Fire Restrictions are in effect in all Linn County and Willamette National Forest campgrounds starting today, August 17, 2026. Due to fire danger, drier than usual fuels, limited firefighting personnel, and forecasted hot/dry conditions, fires are banned in all Linn County Parks-managed sites until further notice. This includes barbeques using charcoal briquettes and pellet grills, warming fires, tiki torches, candles, etc. You may still use devices that have an on/off switch that use propane or liquefied bottled fuel. Be careful out there!

With so many fires throughout the state, please be especially careful this year. Fire fighting resources are stretched thin, so we all need to do our part to protect the lands we love. Be safe out there!

To help prevent wildfires, fire restrictions will go into effect Monday, July 20 on the Willamette National Forest, including wilderness areas.

All campfires, charcoal or briquette fires, pellet fires, and any other open fires are prohibited outside of designated recreation sites or campgrounds. Portable cooking stoves, portable gas campfires, and lanterns using gas, jellied petroleum, pressurized liquid fuel or propane with an on/off switch are allowed in areas cleared of flammable vegetation.

Campfires are still allowed inside fire rings at most developed campgrounds and other designated recreation sites.

Smoking is also prohibited, except within a building or vehicle, developed recreation site, on the water, or in an area cleared of flammable vegetation.
