A message from Superintendent Ackerman:

There is no known active threat to our students, staff, or school. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priorities.

We are writing to share information regarding a recent safety concern at Clinton County High School and to reassure our families that the matter has been addressed.

When concerns involving threatening statements were brought to our attention, school administration worked in collaboration with the Clinton County Sheriff's Office to assess the situation and determine appropriate next steps. The concern was taken seriously, and appropriate actions were taken in response.

We understand that situations of this nature can cause concern for families. Please know that we take all safety concerns seriously and follow established procedures to help ensure a safe and supportive learning environment. While student privacy requirements limit the details we can share, we remain committed to responding appropriately to concerns and communicating with families when necessary.

We encourage parents and guardians to speak with their children about the importance of using responsible and respectful language, both in person and online, and understanding the potential impact of statements that may be perceived as threatening. We also encourage students to report any concerns they may hear, see, or experience to a trusted adult or school administrator so they can be addressed promptly.

Maintaining a safe school environment is a shared responsibility. Through communication, cooperation, and continued support from our families and community, we can work together to ensure our schools remain a safe and welcoming place for all students and staff.

Thank you for your continued trust, partnership, and support of Clinton County School District. We appreciate our school community and remain committed to providing an environment where every student can learn and thrive.

Clinton County FRYSC invites youth and families whose lives have been impacted by opioid or substance abuse to jooin us for a free dinner and open conversation.

Our district is asking for any parents/guardians that would to provide feedback on our Local Wellness Policy to complete the following survey. The purpose of a district's Local Wellness Policy is to provide framework that helps discuss healthy food options, nutrition education, physical activity, and more, while working with community and families to ensure we are promoting the health and the wellbeing of the children as a whole. New Museum Planning Meeting.
There is a meeting Monday, October 19th at 5:30 pm at the site of the First Christian Church off the square in Albany to begin the planning phase for a local museum celebrating Clinton County. This is an open meeting so everyone is welcome to attend and offer your support in any way you would like. We need input in organization, funding, construction, technology, etc. Come and see what we can do together. Invite a friend and let’s make this a reality for our county.

Taylora Schlosser from Rae of Sunshine spoke to members of the CCMS and CCHS Sources of Strength Clubs. Taylora shared the role we all have in encouraging others and helping everyone feel seen. She reminded everyone that we all have a story that deserves to be heard.

Clinton County Schools are proud to partner with Taylora and her organization to promote positive mental health.
