Nationally, more youth initiate alcohol use in December than in any other month. Here are 3 tips to keep your kids safe from alcohol this holiday season.

1. Be clear with your expectations. Let your children know that although some adults may be drinking, they are not allowed to consume any amount of alcohol.
2. Adults may be tempted to “break the rules” and offer teens alcohol during the holiday season as a treat or gesture of affection. Ask your friends and family not to give alcohol to teens.
3. Teach your children that they can have fun without alcohol. Serve alcohol-free holiday drinks for all age groups in your home.
