Fandangle Legacy is a new series dedicated to telling the stories of the people and families who have helped keep the Fort Griffin Fandangle alive for generations. Behind every scene, song and dance are memories, traditions and connections that stretch far beyond the stage.

This week’s Fandangle Legacy feature highlights Sydney Key, who has been part of the show for 23 years while carrying on a family legacy deeply connected to the Fandangle.

This past Saturday at Fort Griffin, something special happened. For the first time, the Fort Griffin Fandangle Sampler was held on the historic grounds, bringing together a great cast, a packed crowd, and even the State Herd of Texas Longhorns. If you weren’t there, you missed something special. The summer show is just around the corner, with practices starting May 5.

There was something special about this year’s Fandangle Sampler. For the first time, it was held on the historic grounds of Fort Griffin State Historic Site, with the sun still hanging on the horizon and the story coming to life right where it all began.
If this was just the preview, you won’t want to miss the full show this summer.

There was something different in the air Saturday evening, April 18—and anyone who made the trip out to Fort Griffin State Historic Site could feel it from the moment the show began.
