We’re so excited to launch the NYSYD Women’s Caucus Mentorship Program! This initiative will connect caucus members with accomplished women leaders across a wide range of fields to help foster growth, guidance, and meaningful professional relationships. Whether you’re looking for a mentor or are someone who would make a wonderful one, we encourage you to apply and get involved. Our Deputy Chair Shannon Sutorius, Membership Director of the Albany County Young Democrats Jenna Wyner, and President of ACYD Manik Elahi visited Equinox today to meet with staff after we donated $1k from from our Women’s History Month Event. Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen by attending back in March, and to Equinox for coordinating with us. We were immensely proud to be able to give to this wonderful organization that helps at-risk women and children and benefit our larger community. We will be announcing one more organization that we donated to based on the tremendous success from our event, so stay tuned! On Tuesday night, we shattered the glass ceiling and made history.

Our room was filled with undeniable power: Senator Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, Assembly Majority Leader Crystal People-Stokes, Chair of the Legislative Women’s Caucus and Black Legislative Taskforce Chantel Jackson, Speaker of the Assembly Carl Heastie, and of course — the first woman Governor of the State of New York Kathy Hochul. The most important reason we could do it all is because of YOU.

Your belief in our caucus and helping connect current and future generations of leadership powered this event. We couldn’t have packed a standing-room only crowd without the collective work and support of our amazing team as well as community. And as you may have heard that night—while this may be the first, it certainly won’t be the last.

We can’t wait to keep going with all of you. Thank you for an unforgettable night, and stay with us, because the NYSYD Women’s Caucus isn’t just planning on making history during Women’s History, but year round.
