Our next big event is finally here! ✨🩷 Join us in Manhattan to kick off October with some powerful ladies doing powerful things! Be part of an exclusive opportunity through the NYSYD Women’s Caucus to network with leaders, advocates, and allies across generations. On Sunday, October 4th, 11:30-2:30pm, we’ll meet at Planet Hollywood in Midtown to offer attendees light bites, a cash bar, and a room full of individuals and organizations looking to help advance the professional lives and careers of young women. 💪

Today, we want to highlight three extraordinary union leaders who fought tirelessly for workers’ and women’s rights🛠️

Dolores Huerta — A legendary civil rights activist who co-founded the United Farm Workers, organized massive national boycotts, and coined the powerful rallying cry, “Sí, se puede!”

Kate Mullany — At just 19 years old, she formed America’s first all-female union in 1864, leading a successful strike for higher wages and better working conditions.

Melinda Person — A powerful modern labor champion who leads the 700,000+ member New York State United Teachers (NYSUT), delivering historic legislative victories for public education funding, workplace safety, and pension reforms.
