Here’s your sneak peek at the Lights of Liberty Drone Show—coming to City Lake Park on Friday, June 5 at 9 p.m.

If you’ve never seen a drone show before, get excited: 250 illuminated drones, choreographed to music and narration, will paint patriotic stories across the night sky. And best of all—it’s FREE!

📍 Location: City Lake Park, 815 Concord Rd, Albemarle

🕠 Come Early: Food Truck Friday runs 5:30–9 p.m. with food trucks, live music from Heart Breaker, and open‑lawn seating.

🚗 Parking: Limited at the park—arrive early or carpool.

🚌 Free Shuttle: Park at Market Station (501 W Main St) and ride the free continuous shuttle from 6–11 p.m., courtesy of Friendly Chevrolet.

🎁 Giveaway: First 800 cars receive a free LED light‑up American flag from the City of Albemarle Electric Division & ElectriCities.

🇺🇸 Special Feature: Explore the America 250 NC Airstream traveling exhibit on-site.

It's almost here! Join us on Friday, June 5 at 9 p.m. for a spectacular FREE drone show at City Lake Park (815 Concord Rd, Albemarle, NC 28001).

This one‑of‑a‑kind show sponsored by Uwharrie Bank will feature 250 illuminated drones choreographed to narration and music, creating vivid moving images and patriotic scenes across the night sky. It’s a storytelling‑style fireworks experience with a modern twist.

Come Early for Food Truck Friday. Make an evening of it!

Food Truck Friday runs 5:30–9:00 p.m. at City Lake Park featuring:
• A variety of food trucks
• Live music from Heart Breaker
• Open lawn seating — bring your own chairs or blankets

Parking at City Lake Park

Parking is limited and fills up quickly, especially for large events like this one.
• Arrive early if you plan to park on‑site.
• When possible, carpool with friends, family, or neighbors.

Step back in time with us as the Stanly County Historical Society brings the unforgettable sound of 1940s big band swing to downtown Albemarle! The Salisbury Swing Band will fill the evening air with the vibrant brass and lively rhythms that once served as the heartbeat of American resilience during World War II.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and set up in the street or in the parking lot between the Stanly County Public Library and Uwharrie Brewing. Since this event is within the Downtown Social District, be sure to request your beverages in an official Social District Cup.

This free community concert is a chance to honor the spirit of the “Greatest Generation,” celebrate a defining era of American culture, and enjoy a timeless soundtrack that once united a nation.

Free concert! Happening April 30 at 7:00 p.m. at the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center.... The debut of “Tapestry of America,” a brand-new composition created by NC composer Bruce W. Tippette to mark the nation’s 250th anniversary.

Drawing from iconic American texts—including the Preambles to both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, and the poem from the Statue of Liberty—this powerful work weaves together the voices and values that shape our nation.

Experience its world premiere at the Stanly County Chorale and Concert Band’s Spring Concert on April 30 at 7p.m.

The Stanly County Chorale and the Stanly County Concert Band invite you to a special evening of music as they present their Spring Concert, “Our American Journey in Music.” Join us on April 30 at 7:00 p.m. at the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center.

The performance will be a powerful celebration of American heritage through song and sound. This year’s program includes the world premiere of a newly commissioned work by North Carolina composer Bruce W. Tippette.

Tippette’s original piece, “Tapestry of America,” honors the nation’s 250th anniversary and showcases the combined talents of both ensembles. Don’t miss this inspiring community event!
