Excellent training tonight along with Albemarle E131. We got practice setting up drafting operations utilizing our new suction elbow to draft in front of the truck, transfer pipe to move water from one tank to another, and swivel dump on the tanker.

Important upgrade completed today on T284. Changed out the rear dump to a swivel dump which will make the truck much more efficient at dumping water where we need it. Thank you to All Pro Fire & Safety for helping us out with the project.

We are thankful to finally have a backup generator for our fire station. The purchase made possible with funds from this years VFD Fire Grant, provided and installed by Hyatt Equipment.

Notice to residents in the Palestine area...
DOT will be closing the bridge on Airport Rd near Melton Rd for repairs starting 8/31 until 9/18. We will have to modify our travel route to respond to any calls in the area. We will do our best to minimize the impact on response times including requesting mutual aid as needed.

Last night was perfect for our volunteers to get some practice setting up our Paratech struts for vehicle stabilization. We discussed strut placement, how the angle and length affect load capacity, and how to use the securing strap. These are carried on E281 along with our other extrication tools.

Yesterday we debuted some fresh graphics on "new" E282 with reflective gold leaf lettering by Sellers Sign & Design and help fabricating a sign board for above the ladders by Rolling Hills Manufacturing. More upgrades to come and equipment to mount in the near future.

We found a new owner for our former E282 and are pleased to say the truck is going to continue serving locally at the NC Emergency Training Center. Thank you to OSFM for working with us to make it happen.
