Critically, Trump said straight out that if they do, Democrats will “never be elected again.” Trump admitted that the whole point of his bill is to ensure one-party rule in perpetuity, in the GOP’s favor—exactly why he wants it passed before the midterms.

As Fox News releases some of Trump’s worst polling ever, the writer of a piece on his unpopularity explains why his coalition is imploding—and why his only way out is massive cheating.

Donald Trump inherited an economy from Joe Biden that was perhaps not firing on all cylinders but was in pretty good shape all the same. Real GDP grew at 2.8 percent in 2024. Wages were growing at a higher rate, 4.8 percent. Inflation closed out 2024 at 2.9 percent—high, but way down from the 7 percent of 2021. Compared to the EU and China, the U.S. economy was, as The Economist famously put it right before the election, “The envy of the world.”

What has Trump done? What he usually does: Make things worse. Real GDP growth in the first quarter of this year was 2 percent. Okay, you say, but that’s just a quarter. What about Trump’s first full year back on the job, so as to compare apples to apples? GDP growth in 2025 was 2.1 percent—substantially lower than Biden’s 2.9 for 2024. And inflation right now in the United States stands at 3.8 percent, way above the 2024 number.

And now, The New York Times told us Sunday, we’ve hit another grim milestone: The national debt is bigger than the economy. It’s true that presidents of both parties have racked up big debt numbers. In this century, Democratic and Republican presidencies have contributed almost equally to the explosion in the national debt, from around $5.8 trillion at the dawn of the century to $39 trillion today. But only one party carries on about how awful the debt is. So, it’s only that party, the Republicans, who are complete hypocrites about it.

Donald Trump is different in many ways from the Republican presidents who preceded him. But there’s one way he’s exactly the same.

This article by Kagan being recognised as being the most significant piece of geo-strategic analysis in decades. Why? Because Robert Kagan is THE intellectual founder of neo-conservative interventionism. He, along with William Kristol founded PNAC - which was the neo-conservative think tank that dominated U.S. foreign policy for decades and, among other horrors, has advocated for war with Iran the entire time.

In this article, Kagan admits that the U.S. has been strategically defeated by Iran. He adds that it's not a defeat like Vietnam or Afghanistan, or even Pearl Harbour - this is a defeat that will cause irreversable damage to America's position in the world. He writes:

"With control of the strait, Iran emerges as the key player in the region and one of the key players in the world. The roles of China and Russia, as Iran’s allies, are strengthened; the role of the United States, substantially diminished."

Washington can’t reverse or control the consequences of losing this war.

They don't wanna talk about gas prices.

They don't wanna talk about the Epstein files.

They don't wanna talk about Trump's dementia or failing health.

They don't want to talk about the war they started.

They don't wanna talk about providing healthcare, or a living wage, or any sort of benefit for their constituents.
..Most importantly, they don't want to talk actual policy that benefits working people because they don't have any.

Gas prices are how voters measure the success of the economy. The Iran war is causing rising gas prices, and battleground district Republicans have mostly gone silent.

Many workers who were born in the U.S. benefited from a complementary immigrant workforce that supported parts of their industry, according to a study by researchers at the University of Colorado Boulder and published last week by the National Bureau of Economic Research. But with the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown over the past year, largely mediated through ICE, at least 1.2 million foreign-born workers have left the labor force, dismantling the structure that supported native-born jobs too.

“Heightened ICE activity is harming the labor market overall, and we find no evidence that it is benefiting U.S.-born workers,” Chloe East, one of the study’s authors, said in a statement. “If anything, job opportunities for U.S.-born workers are going down as a result.”

A new study finds that for every 6 undocumented immigrants removed from the workforce, one person born in the U.S. loses their job.
