Central Piedmont Search and Rescue, CPSAR, is a group of all volunteers specializing in finding those whom have lost their way. CPSAR has members spread out in several counties of the central portion of the state. The focus of CPSAR is the location and rescue of those who are lost or have gone missing. To facilitate the location and rescue of lost or missing persons, we use several strategic disci
plines related to search and rescue. Among the tactics that we employ are ATV (all terrain vehicle) units, land searching, man tracking, still-water search and recovery units, and K9 units. We have over 50 years of combined experience in the field of search and rescue, emergency medical care, and life safety that we use to give every person searched for the best odds for survival and recovery. At CPSAR, we believe strongly in promoting community awareness to search and rescue operations. Because of our commitment to the community, we also offer ourselves to give presentations and demonstrations to groups in the community in addition to participating in parades and other public relations events. We welcome all those who wish to help out their community. You do not need to be trained or qualified to join. The only thing that we ask is that you are willing to learn and have a great time doing it.
