With October being Fire Prevention Month, the Albertson Fire Company takes pride in visiting the schools in our district to promote fire safety. On Wednesday October 7th, we visited Meadow Drive Elementary School, and on October 13th we visited the Searingtown Elementary School. We provided a brief presentation to all classes in attendance and also allowed the students a chance to see our firefighters, equipment and apparatus.

Reports of a victim were provided by a neighbor. 803 with the assistance of mutual aid departments were able to rescue and safely extract the victim, who was immediately transported to the hospital.

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of honorary member, Sgt. Anthony Catalano, who passed away Saturday May 30th, at the age of 105.

Tony was a proud World War II veteran who served in General Patton’s 3rd Army and was part of the force that helped liberate the Dachau concentration camp. His service to our country and the sacrifices he made stand as a lasting example of courage and dedication.

Beyond his military service, Tony remained deeply connected to his community, regularly sharing his experiences with younger generations and staying active with local veteran organizations. He carried himself with humility and pride, and his presence was a source of inspiration to all who knew him.

We were proud to have him as part of our department as an honorary member. His legacy of service, character, and commitment will not be forgotten.

We extend our sincere condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
