🎨 Student Art That Will Welcome Generations of Knights 🖼️

Throughout the school year, sixth-grade students at STMA Middle School West have been working alongside art teacher April Erickson to create the Knights of Crow River mosaic tile project. 🎨🧩 This incredible work of art was recently installed on the two columns at the main entrance near door B. 🚪

The creativity, collaboration, and craftsmanship displayed by our students have been outstanding, and the finished mosaic is stunning. 🌟👏

𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿: 2017

𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, 𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵: Concordia University St Paul

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘄? After high school, I attended Concordia University, St. Paul, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Following graduation, I began my career as a school nurse. Last year, I joined STMA, serving as the school nurse for Community Education, where I support students in the Wings and Knights Academy programs, as well as Kids Play and ECFE. In my personal life, I married my high school sweetheart, Zac, another 2017 STMA graduate. We recently welcomed our first child in February.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗧𝗠𝗔 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀, 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂? Attending Kids Play as a child had a lasting impact on me. I still carry so many memories—from field trips and activities to the meaningful relationships I built with staff. After graduating, I returned to Kids Play as a summer para, and it was incredibly rewarding to step into the role of those I once looked up to and build connections with students. Even more special, some of the staff who were there when I was a child are still here today, and now I have the privilege of working alongside them as a nurse.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗧𝗠𝗔 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁? As someone who was very quiet in school, my advice would be to believe in yourself and not be afraid to get involved. Confidence takes time to build, and growth often happens when you challenge yourself to try something new. Some of the best experiences and lessons come from the people around you, so take opportunities to learn from others and build meaningful connections.

A big thank you to our amazing STMA Robotics Team 7028, Binary Battalion, for joining us at our admin retreat and teaching our leadership team how to build and program a robot!

The hands-on experience gave administrators a firsthand look at the creativity, collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills our students develop through robotics. Most importantly, it was a lot of fun! Our administrators thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and gained an even greater appreciation for the talent, dedication, and innovation of Team 7028.

Thank you to these outstanding students, coaches, mentors, and parents for sharing your time, expertise, and passion with us.

Team 7028, we are incredibly proud of all you have accomplished and grateful for the opportunity to learn from you.

Shaping Tomorrow, Together

Thank you to everyone who joined us last night as part of the STMA Portrait of a Learner Design Team!

The team reviewed stakeholder survey results and engaged in thoughtful discussions to identify the durable skills every learner needs to thrive in school, work, and life. We are grateful for the many voices represented in this process, including high school students, parents, staff members from a variety of roles, community members, and local and county elected officials.

The strength of our district comes from working together. We are grateful for the many voices that contributed to this process. Together, we are creating a Portrait of a Learner that reflects the values, priorities, and hopes of our entire community.

The featured pieces were created by talented STMA High School students and showcase the creativity, skill, and dedication of our young artists. A special thank you to our passionate art teachers for inspiring and supporting students as they develop and share their talents.

We are grateful for our strong partnership with the City of St. Michael and appreciate the opportunity to showcase student work in such a great community space.

🥍 STATE BOUND! 🥍

Congratulations to the STMA Boys Lacrosse Team on capturing the Section 8A Championship!

With the victory, the Knights advance to the state tournament next week—the first trip to the state tournament in program history. What an incredible accomplishment for our student-athletes, coaches, and supporters.

Good luck at state, Knights! We are proud of you and will be cheering you on every step of the way.

The Knights now advance to the state tournament next week at St. Thomas University. Even more impressive, this is only the program’s second year in existence!
