💙 June is National Reunification Month

Most people don’t realize this, but when a child enters the child welfare system, the first goal is often reunification​ if it can be done safely.

That means families working through real challenges and a whole network of people helping support that process.

So here’s a question:
What do you think families need most to stay safely together during hard seasons?

At CAJA, we see every day how many different pieces have to come together for stability and permanency to happen for children.

This month is a reminder: change is possible and community support matters more than most people realize.

You don't have to be the loudest voice in a child's life to make the most difference. Usually, it's actually the calmest, most consistent one.

For children involved in abuse and neglect cases, having that one voice continuously show up to advocate for their best interests can change their situation as well as their future.

CAJA volunteers take on this role in cases they are appointed to, and from the first day they refuse to let their child go unseen. Every child deserves that kind of presence.

✅️Social Security Cards: Original cards for everyone in the household.

✅️Proof of Income: Gross income for the previous month for everyone in the home (Check stubs, Social Security, pensions, etc. Please note: we cannot accept bank statements).
✅️Housing Info: Your lease or voucher if you live in Public Housing or Section 8.
✅️Your Heating Bill: A copy of your most recent bill for your primary cooling source

313 children who suffered trauma and abuse in Marshall County received support from the Child Advocacy Center of Marshall County in the first quarter of 2026 alone.

➡ Children who were spared from reliving their worst nightmares over and over again through multiple interviews.

➡ Children and families who received counseling to help them cope with trauma and move forward in their lives.

Thanks to community support, this United Way partner agency is changing countless lives right here in Marshall County.
