-Working, Playing, Learning...Together

Our Philosophy

Our goal is to provide a quality instructional program with high expectations for all students, staff, and administrators. We believe that education is a cooperative effort between the home, school and community that nurtures a child's complete development. We believe that kindergarten should provide a learning environment that is meaningful for children by integrating subject matter into units of study that begin with the development of the child's understanding of the world around him or her. Learning is directly related to the child's everyday surroundings in an environment rich with literature and print. The planned outcome of our program is that every student will leave kindergarten with the skills necessary to progress in the future and a lifelong love of learning.

Our AKPK Spotlight Faculty Member of the Week is Ms. Marcela!

Marcela has been helping in Mrs. Burrell’s room and has quickly become such a wonderful addition to the AKPK family. In our voting form, she was described as hardworking, efficient, positive, and always willing to help. Even on challenging days, she continues to show up with a smile and brings patience, love, and dedication to the students she serves each day.

We are so thankful to have you on our team, Ms. Marcela!

In order to make car line a little more efficient in the afternoons, we'd like all kindergarten car rider parents to come in the same direction, no matter the color of their pick-up card.

ALL KINDERGARTEN AFTERNOON CAR RIDERS:
Take Highway 431 to N. Carlisle St. (Burger King) and turn RIGHT onto Country Club Road, then turn RIGHT into the pick-up line by the fence at school.

ALL PRE-K AFTERNOON CAR RIDERS:
Take Highway 75 to Martling Road, then turn LEFT onto Country Club Road, then turn LEFT into the parking lot for the Pre-K pick-up line.

AKPK Kindergarten Bus Rider Information 🚌

Dear AKPK Kindergarten Parents and Families,

If your child rides the bus home, an adult must be present at the home address on file to receive your child. The adult receiving the student MUST have the yellow or blue pick-up card issued by the school in order for the student to be released from the bus.

If an adult is not present with the appropriate pick-up card, your child will not be released from the bus and will be returned to APS/AES, where they will need to be picked up.

Please plan to be outside and ready to receive your child by 2:50 p.m. This will help us keep our routes running smoothly and, most importantly, ensure that every student gets home safely.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep our students safe! It’s been a great week and we look forward to Monday!

Go Aggies!
