On behalf of Laramie County Fire District #3, we would like to extend a sincere thank you to our taxpayers and community members for voting YES on Proposition 7.

Your continued support makes a direct difference in our ability to serve and protect our community. With this funding, LCFD3 will be able to purchase two new apparatus, allowing us to upgrade our fleet, improve response capabilities, and better meet the growing needs of our district.

As a 100% volunteer fire department, we are incredibly grateful for the trust and support our community continues to place in us. These new apparatus will be an investment in the safety of our firefighters, our residents, and the communities we serve for many years to come.

Thank you for supporting LCFD3 and helping us continue to provide the best service possible to our community. We are proud to serve you!

🚒 LCFD3 Wildland Team Update 🌲🔥
Our LCFD3 Wildland Team is currently hard at work assisting our neighbors in Colorado on the Aspen Acres Fire.
Personnel assigned to our wildland engine, cross-staffed with Cheyenne Fire Rescue, along with our dozer and operator, are actively engaged in fire suppression efforts. We are proud to work alongside our partner agencies to help protect lives, property, and natural resources during this challenging incident.
Please join us in wishing all firefighters a safe assignment as they continue their efforts on the fire line. We appreciate the support from our community and will provide updates as they become available.

At approximately 2:30 PM this afternoon, Laramie County Fire District #3 was dispatched to a report of a small fire north of the Goshen County line in the vicinity of US Highway 85 and County Road 152.

By 2:45 PM, arriving crews found a rapidly spreading grass fire moving southeast into Laramie County. Due to the fire’s rapid growth, a large mutual aid response was requested.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our mutual aid partners from LaGrange Fire, Laramie County Fire Districts 1, 4, 5, and 6, the Laramie County Fire Authority, Cheyenne Fire Rescue, multiple Goshen County agencies, Banner County responders, the Laramie County Sheriff’s Department, and Laramie County Combined Communications Center (LCCCC) for their outstanding assistance.

In total, approximately 85 personnel and 46 apparatus responded to the incident, along with a semi-tanker provided by Helena Agri-Enterprises of Pine Bluffs. We would also like to recognize the numerous landowners who stepped in to assist firefighters throughout the operation.

The fire ultimately burned an estimated 1,328 acres and encompassed approximately 10 miles of fire perimeter before being contained.

A special thank you goes to The Longbranch in Hawk Springs for their generous donation and support in helping keep our crews fed during the incident.

This fire serves as another reminder of the importance of strong mutual aid partnerships and community support. We are grateful for everyone who played a role in protecting lives, property, and our communities today.

Eric Barlow and his team stopped by the station to discuss the future of the fire service in Laramie County and across Wyoming. The conversation focused on the challenges and opportunities facing emergency services, including the potential impact of proposed tax cuts on the funding that supports fire protection, EMS, training, equipment, and emergency response capabilities. These discussions are important as we work to ensure our communities continue to receive the high level of service they depend on while adapting to changing financial and operational realities. We appreciate the opportunity to share perspectives and discuss solutions that will help strengthen emergency services for the future.

Laramie County residents, stakeholders, landowners, and community partners are encouraged to review the draft Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) and provide feedback during the public comment period.

The CWPP is an important planning document that helps identify wildfire risks, prioritize mitigation projects, improve preparedness, and strengthen our community's ability to prevent and respond to wildfires. Your input helps ensure the plan reflects local knowledge, concerns, and priorities.

We invite you to take a few minutes to review the draft plan and share any comments, suggestions, or recommendations you may have. Whether you live in a wildfire-prone area, own property, represent an organization, or simply have an interest in community safety, your feedback is valuable.
