Eric Barlow and his team stopped by the station to discuss the future of the fire service in Laramie County and across Wyoming. The conversation focused on the challenges and opportunities facing emergency services, including the potential impact of proposed tax cuts on the funding that supports fire protection, EMS, training, equipment, and emergency response capabilities. These discussions are important as we work to ensure our communities continue to receive the high level of service they depend on while adapting to changing financial and operational realities. We appreciate the opportunity to share perspectives and discuss solutions that will help strengthen emergency services for the future.

🔥 Public Comment Requested – Draft Community Wildfire Protection Plan 🔥

Laramie County residents, stakeholders, landowners, and community partners are encouraged to review the draft Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) and provide feedback during the public comment period.

The CWPP is an important planning document that helps identify wildfire risks, prioritize mitigation projects, improve preparedness, and strengthen our community's ability to prevent and respond to wildfires. Your input helps ensure the plan reflects local knowledge, concerns, and priorities.

We invite you to take a few minutes to review the draft plan and share any comments, suggestions, or recommendations you may have. Whether you live in a wildfire-prone area, own property, represent an organization, or simply have an interest in community safety, your feedback is valuable.

We are sad to report the passing of former Chief, Bob Anderson. Bob joined the department part time in 1965, and went full time in 1973, dedicating over 60 years of service to the department and Albin community. Bob served as fire chief, firefighter, board member, and an EMT for Albin Rescue. He also served the community as mayor, bus driver, and anything else the town needed. He will be missed dearly. Rest easy, sir. We’ll take it from here. Thank you for your service. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 23rd at 1:00 p.m. at the Albin Community Center.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of John Eklund. John was an avid supporter of LCFD3, and an active member of our community. He will be missed.
