Your guide to this Saturday’s Spring Spectacular! is here! 🗺🌿

Check out the event map and start planning your day at the refuge. Here are just a few of the things you can experience throughout the event:

🐦 Join a bird walk at 8am at Swallow Hollow Trail & 11am at Headquarters Trail
🎶 Experience Rhythms of the Refuge with the Haudenosaunee Social Dancers at 12pm
🏹 Try your hand at hoverball archery
🦅 Stop by our Eagle Watch at the Cayuga Overlook 10am-2pm
🎣 Practice your skills with our backyard bass casting game
🌎 Meet local environmental partners and take part in hands-on activities
🎨 Create your own watercolor painting at our paint station
🍿 Grab a bite from food trucks including More Than A Mouthful and Papa's Popcorn
🌿 And don’t forget to explore! Spring is one of the best times to experience the trails and overlooks throughout the refuge, as well as nearby adventures at the Tonawanda Wildlife Management Area and Oak Orchard Wildlife Management Area.
🚗Pleas drive slow! Public Parking is available in our maintenance gravel lot to the left of the Visitor Center or along Casey Road. Accessible parking is available along the driveway leading up to the Visitor Center or along the tree-line in the maintenance lot.

☀️Join us for a day of nature, creativity, and community at the Spring Spectacular, taking place at the Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge on May 9th, 2026, from 10am to 3pm! Immerse yourself in the beauty of the refuge as you observe a diverse array of wildlife, participate in fun crafts and educational activities, and connect with various community organizations dedicated to conservation, artistic expression, and cultural enrichment. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, an art lover, or simply looking for a fun-filled day with family and friends, the Spring Spectacular promises something for everyone to enjoy.

🍃While you’re here you can also enjoy what the rest of the wildlife refuge has to offer as well as visit the neighboring Oak Orchard and Tonawanda Wildlife Management Areas and appreciate the importance of the whole landscape coming together to provide vital habitat for wildlife that live and pass through Western New York. This event is being held thanks to The Friends of Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation!
