It's National EMS Week! 🚑🩺🙌🚑
This week we celebrate the EMS providers who respond to emergencies 24/7/365, providing not only pre-hospital medical care in urgent situations, but care, compassion, and respect for their patients. Thank you to the amazing EMTs, Paramedics, and support team who keep our communities safe and are there for our community when it's needed most. Happy EMS Week!

Did you know, these superheroes behind the scenes:
💛 Can teach you how to perform CPR over the phone in less than a minute?!
💛 Can help deliver a baby when a patient doesn't make it to the hospital in time?!
💛 Can instruct you on how to escape dangerous situations like a structure fire or a sinking vehicle?!

Not everyone can help save a life over the telephone. We're so proud of and thankful for these first responders!

It's National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week! 🖤💛🖤

911 Dispatchers and Call Takers are called the "first first responder" for a reason. When you call 911 for help, the call taker is responsible for gathering all of the important information responding crews will need to make an informed treatment plan and be well-prepared when they arrive on scene.

All of our Call Takers go through extra training and certification through the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch - IAED, allowing them to set the stage for appropriate patient care before the on-scene first responders even arrive.

Our Dispatch team is a vital part of our patient care and we are thankful for all they do!

⚫️ Has 40 employees
🟡 Dispatches EMS for all or part of 11 counties across southern Michigan
⚫️ Dispatches for 15 Fire Departments in Washtenaw County
🟡 Dispatches special teams for complicated rescues

During this week we celebrate our amazing 911 Dispatchers - the first first responders who help our community during their worst moments. Thank you to all of our dispatchers for being there for our community and our EMS providers, we're incredibly thankful to have you on the ACA team! 🖤💛🖤
