🚲🛴 Electric Scooters & Bicycles: Share the Road, Follow the Rules 🚔

As the weather gets nicer, we’re seeing more bicycles and electric scooters on the streets of Albion. We want everyone to have fun and stay safe, but it’s important to remember that when you’re riding on the roadway, you must obey the same traffic laws as other vehicles.

A few important reminders:

🛑 Stop means STOP.
Come to a complete stop at all stop signs and red lights before proceeding when it’s safe.

➡️ Ride on the right side of the road.
Travel with the flow of traffic, not against it. Riding the wrong way makes it harder for drivers to see and predict your movements. Keep as far to the right as possible and do not ride in the middle of the road.

🚦 Obey all traffic signs and signals.
Traffic laws aren’t optional based on the size of your vehicle.

👀 Be visible and aware.
Watch for vehicles pulling out of driveways, opening doors, and pedestrians crossing the street.

✋ Signal your turns when possible.
Let others know what you plan to do before you do it.

🚶 Yield to pedestrians.
They always deserve a little extra courtesy and caution.

😊 Practice common courtesy.
A wave, a thank you, and respecting other roadway users go a long way toward keeping our community safe and friendly.

🚗 Drivers, we haven’t forgotten about you.
Please give bicyclists and scooter riders room when passing and remain patient. We all share the same roads.

Safety isn’t just about avoiding a ticket—it’s about making sure everyone gets home safely. Whether you’re driving a car, riding a bicycle, or cruising on an electric scooter, let’s all do our part to make Albion’s streets safe for everyone.

🚨ALBION PD INVESTIGATION UPDATE 🚨

Albion Police officers observed two members of the fire department attempting to impersonate law enforcement personnel by consuming doughnuts during duty hours. 🍩👮‍♂️🚒

When questioned, the suspects claimed they were “just helping with community relations,” but officers noted an alarming lack of coffee and zero radar guns in the vehicle.

Charges currently under review include:
• Impersonating a police officer
• Possession of stolen police snacks
• Excessive confidence while holding pastries

The investigation remains ongoing… although we may let them off with a warning since they did share the doughnuts. 🤝🍩
